It's just something about it that is kinda strange. He's been somehow involved in all of the DC superhero cartoons over the last decade and now he's just not in it.

It's not really that strange. After all, B:TAS was concieved and designed without him. He just started out as a scriptwriter for hire, well after the ball had gotten rolling. He didn't become a producer/co-designer till the Superman days. I'll miss his input to be sure, but the Justice League series will be just fine even without him.

I'm not worried. Dini was initially a writer on Batman, and he may write a JL ep. I think Timm will do a amazing job. He has a great crew behind him and a whole pack of amazing writers. This show will be great.

I've seen shots and heard Bruce Timm's idea with the show. Its going to rock and doesn't need Dini. Not that Dini won't be missed

Yeah, of course we all want him around and are gonna miss him, but the show will still be great.

Yes, I know the show will rock hard, but I'm saying that him not being there will just kind of feel weird for me.

While I think the show will be great and good in every way, I agree with Joey that Dini's absence will be felt. Even while he may write an episode here and there, it won't be the same. The job will get done, but it won't get done with the same kind of personal touch he added, and fans will notice.

Here's something for you all to ponder on: did anyone feel the absense of Eric Radomski not being on TNBA or BB? True, he didn't get as much publicity as Dini, but he was still a major guy in BTAS. And this may change as the series gets started, but right now, i don't think i'll feel too much of a change.

I did miss Radmomski, he did have a big impact on the show. Darn it I miss the titles cards.

I just hope that we still get all the great innovative style Dini gave us. Dini could show human sides to any character, while it still being a *SUPERHERO* show. Episodes where the entire league has Green Lantern rings when Stewart is taken out of comission for an episode. And if Plastic Man makes an appearance, I'd want him to start of like he did in the comics, as a villain.
Cheers.

:) Well Paul was to write the Gorilla city story but Bruce was giving him a bit of trouble. They have not been close in a long time.

Hey, welcome to the boards, Xbuilder! Stick around, cuz these boards are the best! And the JL boards are only going to be kicking more than they are now once the series starts!

Hey, have another welcome to the boards!
So the feud is still going on? Aw, dangit. I really would have liked to have seen at least a script or two. Still, at least he's still doing some cool stuff!

I got to chat with Dini for a bit in San Diego - he's rather burned out on superheroes right now and wants to do something different. I'd tell you what that is, but it would end up on the news page without my having sent it in and I got the impression Dini was kinda telling me this in confidence.
However, he did give me a "shout out", sound byte kinda thing on some of his latest projects which should be up on Toon Zone's main news page later this week. It would have gone up already, but I'm one of those cable modem users who's had enormous difficulty accessing toonzone at all.

So we'll soon have some inkling of what the guy's been up to? Very cool, I'll have to keep my eye out...

Yeah, but Timm's great solely from the animation/design standpoint, which says nothing about the quality of those that will actually write the episodes. Paul Dini's a great writer who has done incredible work. There's no way his presence won't be missed.
An animated show needs to have great visuals and stories. Until someone steps up and shows ability like Dini's, JLA will be lacking in comparison to the Batman shows.
