Is it me or is Smallville getting very repetitive? Almost every week you have some freak show up to this little town in Kansas. And every week Clark defeats this freak-of-the-week with like one throw. The climax always lasts about 3 seconds. The good episodes are the ones without the freak-of-the-week; such as the one with the corrupt cop and the one with the kid on a few weeks ago. I'll give an exception to the one with the football coach from a long time ago; that was a good episode. What do you think?

In every occasion, the so-called "freak of the week" is a physical extension of the theme of the story. Drone was about leaders and followers, and so included a girl who could control bees. Crush was about redefining one's outlook on life while impossibly trying to forget missed opportunities, and so included an artist who gained telekinesis, but spent all his time mourning the loss of his hands. If the story had been JUST about Clark getting with Chloe while still wondering about Lana, this would be a pretty boring show. I love the mix.
