I mean there is so much hype surrounding this thing, and I'm, honestly wondering if even the best of shows (if it does turn out to be) will be able to keep some from being drastically dissapointed.

Are we setting ourselves up for dissapointment with I4A?

Yes. Which is why I have no different expectations for this ep than any other JL episode.

We quite possibly are looking at a scenario similar to what we saw when Unmasked finally aired for BB. A good episode yes, but for fans craving a grand finale it was a big letdown.

That being said, there's not much that can be done about it. My expectations are set and I can't and don't want to forcibly lower them. So I'll rest assurred that since this is one of the three episodes this season featuring all 7 heroes, and since they're facing an amalgam of their greatest foes, this episode will deliver the kind of knockout story that it should be.

True but, just as with the incident when Batman Beyond "ended" (I.E. many were angry the show ended, when we knew very well we were only going to get fifty-two episodes with a one percent chance KidsWB! would order more) we knew very well that Unmasked wasn't planning on being a grand finale episode.

But I do agree that I'm still expecting a good story. Times like this we just have to trust the writers and take what we're given, I suppose.

I've thought about it a couple of times.

What I'm most worried about this particular episode is the number of characters that's going to be in it.

I mean probably all JL members are in it and then you have the Injustace Gang and Soloman Grundy.

That's 15 Characters!!! How the heck is are the writers gonna revolve a story around all of them. We'd probably won't get an explanation of their origin or how Luthor contacted them.

I'm really worried. But if the writers can pull off a good story despite that then more power to them!

I think we're definitely setting outselves up for dissapointmet. Don't get me wring, I'm sure it'll a good episode, but everyone has set their expectations way too high.

There was a fair amount of hype going into Legends and that didn't dissappoint anybody (there were a couple people I think that weren't gaga over it but I don't think they were anticipating it much either). I'm fairly confident that it will be a better than average episode because Timm and Co. are fairly careful about doing justice to popular characters. And Lex and Joker are gonna be in it. That being said, it's still a good idea to lay off the hype and just take it as it comes.

This is a little off topic, but does anyone know when CN plans to air it?

They're never going to air it. They're just going to cut it up into their JL commercials from now on.

:D

Truth be told, nobody knows. As for the other question, we are probably setting ourselves up for disappointment. Personally, I'm not expecting fireworks - I want to see all the bad guys! I can't wait to see Luthor again!

I'm hoping it will be great, and from the "teasers" we've seen it certainly should be... but the hype and anticipation for this episode has probably gotten a bit out of hand, therefore fueling expectations that may be impossible to meet.

And let's not forget... CARTOON NETWORK is holding it back, it's not that the creators are tweaking it or anything like that. I'm sure that they probably worked harder on this one because of the sheer number of characters (a VERY tall order), especially with the big guns of Luthor & The Joker involved, and I'm even going to go out on a limb and say that they may very well have meant for this to be "the" episode for Season 1- but I think we all should accept that this is just another story arc (albeit an important one), and meant to be aired already. They certainly never saw this kind of delay and building expectations coming !!

This kind of anticipation can indeed set you up for a fall, even if it does turn out to be the best episode- which is exactly what I'm hoping it will be ! I'm hoping to be blown away, but I'm also trying to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground and my own expectations within the realm of reason...
