What would you do if you were given a guest writer spot on JLA, in which you were allowed to plot, outline, and write one multi-issue story arc and one stand alone issue?
My personal ideas:
Stand Alone Issue- The Spectre (Hal Jordan) places the JLA in a reality where they were on Oa at the time of his destructive rampage, leaving the JLA to attempt to destroy their longtime friend.
Multi-Issue Arc- Braniac gains control of Amazo, Plastic Man becomes the loyal servant of Gorilla Grodd, Ares sends Wonder Woman to the Underworld to retrieve his new bride, Hippolyta, and a JLAer is forced to join the Quintessence (its not Superman). But what mysterious and different roles do Felix Faust and Lois Lane play in all of this?

I would do something involving the Bat-family :D. Not sure what though, *thinks*

Stand-alone story: Amazo attacks. But Clark Kent's trapped at his desk at the Daily Planet, Bruce Wayne is making a public speech that he can't get out of, Wonder Woman's tied up fighting Circe, Kyle Rayner can't get rid of his assistant, John Jones is in the middle of investigating a homicide. This is the story of how the Flash and Plastic Man have to call in reserve members Steel, Blue Beetle, the Question, Troia, and Booster Gold. Chaos ensues.
I'd have to consider what I'd do for my big epic....

That would be an awesome stand alone issue!

I'd simply do a mini arc where the JLA were taken down in the begining. so a bunch of other heros had to step up... I'd prolly call it somethin Like JLA- THe Replacements

Something like that is happening with JLA: Obsidian Age, issues 69-74, the JLA goes missing and Batman has a replacement plan set up. Kinda like what you said, but not totally similar.

NO MORE WONDER WOMAN STORIES! THERE HAVE BEEN TWO SINCE ISSUE 47! Ach!
More interesting members. Sure, I like the iconic heroes, but can't it be like JSA where there are many different heroes of many different ages and fighting styles? Like add in another regular human again, like when they added huntress, or get someone with magic powers like Zatanna. Oh, and more women on the team. I would say that too.
I want stories that are epic but also well thought out. Each issue should be it's own, without depending upon the others entirely. Golden Perfect was awful because if you tried to jump in, they never told you what had exactly happened before. If you accidnetly picked up Golden Perfect part 2 as your first JLA issue, your head would have exploded.
Don't get bogged down in other heroes mythos. That's why they have their own comics. Sure, have stand alone stories, but don't make them so you have to know tons about the character to get into it. Like have a Plasticman ish, but don't make it so you have to go to a superhero database to understand him. I thought Golden Perfect sucked because it depended too much on knowing what WW was all about. A lot of people do know what she's all about, but some don't.
A big thing I would do is include other characters, perhaps not on the team, but helping out. Atom is always great as a guest star, as is Captain Marvel.
Most of all, I would write for people who aren't reading and make them want to read.
Oh, and I'd change the artist.

Good idea.
I like the idea of guest stars like Adam Strange's appearence way back when. Doing something like that with Captain Marvel or Starman or Hawkman would be very cool.
oh and BUMP!

"Bump"???? (scratches head)
One-issue story: Yeah, I'd bring Amazo back too....guess he's too appealing a concept to ignore...
Multi-issue story: Probably as others said something that'd bring more readers to the book, and would either bring back older characters (I'd bring back Zatanna and Firestorm myself) or make the team more diverse (more women and minorities would help...I mean, if they let Plastic Man be a member... ;-) Maybe something involving a newly-reformed Secret Society of Super-Villains?

Three Part Story: After Superman and Lois have their first children, twins named Dave and Becky Kent, and now they want to spend some quality time together. Now it's up to the JLA to watch Superman's twins. Chaos ensured. Batman and Plastic-Man changing the twins, Wonder-Women getting them dressed, J"ohn stopping the food fight, and Kyle playing tag.
