View Full Version : What about Lois & Clark?

I've noticed that there are a lot of talkback threads from various Superman and Batman related shows' episodes...even if they are re-runs. (Why someone would make a talkback thread about a re-run is beyond me) But anyway...I was just wondering...what about Lois and Clark? It still is shown every morning at 7:00...and I've never seen a talkback thread about Lois and Clark episodes. People make talkback threads about episodes of the original series of Batman, which was aired a bzillion years ago, and everyone knows about them anyway, but never any threads about Lois and Clark episodes...why not? If you can write about re-runs of shows we seen a million times, why doesn't anyone make talkback threads about Lois and Clark re-runs?

You can if you want to. I didn't even know it was on. I've been putting up Talkbacks for the Bat-Manathon this week because it's been a while since the last time the show was on sci fi, and I'm excited about the show being back on the air. But if you want to post a talkback thread you're free to do it.

I have been wondering this for the longest time.
Where I am the show airs at 8am.
Sometimes I've wanted to start my own threads but since I've never seen any for Lois & Clark - I thought there was no interest or that long before I joined the boards it was established that the Lois & Clark version of Superman is the Anti-Superman or something. (I know a lot of peole who dislike Dean Cain's acting)
But in episodes like theones they've done today......
 MAN DO I HAVE A TENDENCY TO BE ANNOYED BY LOIS!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't hate her.
Just the acting, how characters are expressed. I'd really like a thread to vent.........
Maybe if enough interest is expressed we/me/someone should start up a talkback thread.

Lois and Clark reruns on TNT at 8am in the morning. It has been for a long time (running on TNT).

I don't know if I would call it the Anti-Superman show, but I will say that Dean Cain made a great Clark Kent, and the whole Lois & Clark relationship thing was a great concept for a show. I was certainly a fan and taped the show when it originally aired, but I never really bought Dean Cain as Superman . I can't really put my finger on why , but it just didn't feel right to me... I did enjoy the show, though.

I know I can start talkback threads if I want to, in fact I've done it before in the past, but I just thought it was strange that no one else has.

Yeah, I liked Dean as Clark but something always got to me about the way he portrayed Superman too. Now that I'm older and have been watching the re-runs on TNT, I have pointed out one thing that got to me. It's that Superman's hair is gelled back almost flat on his head. I think his hair needed a little more life. Not to mention my big gripe about the "S" like curl missing. As Clark he sorta has the swurvy (is that a word?) look to his bangs so, I often wonder why it wasn't brought out more as Superman.
I remember an early episode (I think it might have been the heatwave is all Superman's fault episode or the Superman Day episode) in which all this Superman merchandise was being sold and some (all) of the merchandise (including comic style life like standups) had the "S" on the hair. That's when it just came to me that this Superman didn't have one.
Other than that, sometimes I find his stances a little annoying. But hey, what do I know about stances.
My dad taped the show when it originally aired too. I think we are only missing the "frog" honeymoon episode.

The only problems I saw with Lois and Clark was the writing in the last season and how Dean Cain's Kent was more of a silly dork, instead of a shy dork, like Christopher Reeve's Clark was. :) I still love it though, and it's the only thing that kept me going this last semester where I had to get up at 8 AM (Eastern, when Lois and Clark is on) for class.
I wish I knew why the show doesn't get that much feedback. Overall, it was great.
Golly, Lois!
