Dr. Jerkyl's Hide
The original is much better than this remake. The idea of calling Spike by the stupid name Alf is totally out of line. However, the ideas about strength are still highly enjoyable. Sylvester (the cat) drinks the Hyde formula and is then able to beat up Spike (Alf) easily. After Sylvester gets weaker again, Chester is able to beat him up easily. It's really amazing how a thirsty cat can get that result!
Hyde and Hare
A man gives Bugs Bunny carrots every day. Is this cartoon, "What's Up, Doc?" actually relates to doctor! Bugs decides to go to the man's home to live. The man drinks the Hyde formula. He is evil one minute and regular the next. He keeps going back and forth. This causes Bugs to panic. When the scientist goes to throw out the formula, he finds out that Bugs drank it himself. Bugs denies that he drank it, however he obviously did. He turns big and green in the park, causing people to give Bugs a reaction he doesn't understand.
Rocket-bye Baby
A baby to Mars and a baby to Earth get mixed up in line. The Earthlings start to raise the Martian baby. One neighbor acts crazy when he sees the green baby. The Martian baby acts way too smart for his age. After the Martian flies away in a spaceship he built, the Earth family worries. However, they still end up getting the right baby. It is interesting to note that "Mot" is Tom backwards and "Yob" is Boy backwards.
Riff Raffy Daffy
Daffy Duck finds many places he can rest. These include a public bench and inside a store. However, Policeman Porky Pig doesn't like that. Porky Pig gives in when he finds out that Daffy Duck has mechanical babies. This is because Porky Pig also has mechanical babies! Anyway, what is the title supposed to mean? It seems to have nothing to do with the cartoon.
Porky in Wackyland
Although overrated, this is probably one of the best early Porky cartoons. It was ruined by colorization. The color gives a sense to it that is not even supposed to be there. Thank goodness I already have the B&W version on tape. In search of the rare and valuable do-do bird, Porky Pig journeys into Darkest Africa. He arrives in Wackyland, where the disguised do-do tricks Porky Pig many times. Porky in disguise uses a fake newspaper to trick the do-do bird into being captured. Porky finds out at the end that the bird in this cartoon is NOT the last of the do-dos!
Hyde and Go Tweet
Sylvester and Tweety's take on the story. Sylvester gets teased by other cats when they think he is a coward. Tweety drinks the Hyde formula to turn giant. That scares Sylvester. Tweety then turns back to regular size, provoking the laughs. The idea of the Giant Hyde-Tweety would be reused in a video game.
Theme: Three cartoons were in some way related to Hyde.

"Riff Raff" means "...lowest class of the population" (read the origin of the phrase at
this site (http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-rif1.htm) ). Since Daffy is homeless in the cartoon --- Policeman Porky has to keep him from sleeping on the park bench, trash can, gopher hole --- I guess that qualified him as "riff raff"...

It makes a lot of sense to me. I didn't know what that meant, but now I do. Thanks for helping!

It seems like all three of them made it to the 3am repeat. For those titles, see the first post in this thread.

In fact, the term "Riff Raff" has served as the name of a cartoon character, a cat in fact. If anyone remembers "Heathcliff", Heathcliff's alleycat friend and leader of the Catillac Cat gang was named..."Riff Raff".

The name "Heathcliff" sounds familiar, but I am blanking on who that is.
"Riff Raff" being the name of a character seems weird, unless that character is low in society.

The Heathcliff in question is a street-smart orange cat created by George Gately. The star of a comic strip, he had a DiC-produced show in the 1980s. He should not be confused with the dopey cat who recieves an inheritance in Dough Ray Me-ow (you should always put some sort of disclaimer if such a silly confusion could happen!)

--was also the bald-headed troll-like dude from The Rocky Horror Picture Show...one of Tim Curry's finest (and most yaoi) moments.
"Alf" is considered a lower-class corruption of Alfred; it was made famous by a 19th-century political candidate named Landon and, in the mid-eighties, a small brown alien. Note the small dog has a cockney accent, so a Brit-sounding name seems appropriate.
Heathcliff was an 80's-era orange comic-book cat who lived with an older couple and had a bit more of a mean streak than fellow marmalade tabby Garfield--always terrifying dogs and upsetting neighbors. There was also a crew of junkyard cats led by Riff-Raff, a street cat who always carried a walking stick (the essence of dignity in the pit of squallor they lived in). Personally, I always got a kick out of Wordsworth, who always talked in rhyme and wore skates (even on carpet, though it seems they'd be a pain to move about on that surface).

Yeah, I used to like Wordsworth the most too. Mungo was pretty funny too, he was the big fat cat who wore a red sweater and hat. Hector was the third one in the trio, he seemed like the leader, at least when Riff Raff wasn't around. Riff Raff's girlfriend was Cleo. I can't believe I can remember all of this, must have come from watching this way too much growing up. Though admittedly I was having trouble remembering Wordsworth, who always wore the skates and headphones (for a minute I was thinking "Woolworth?":) ) Plus they had that cadillac that could change into a boat! That's why they were the Cadillac Cats.
Now I'll have the theme song stuck in my head.
Heathcliff Heathcliff no one should
terriffy their neighborhood...

"Riff Raff" was also the name of one of the villains in Underdog.
