View Full Version : Easily Forgettable Batman Episode

Inspired by the thread over on the BATMAN BEYOND Board, what episode do you find forgettable and not so great. I'd say CRITTERS, although it does provide a good balance when you get done watching something very serious. The episode is just laughable. Another flunky episode is CAT SCRATCH FEVER. Horrid animation and a boring plot equals on of the worst episodes made.

The Forgotten, Moon of the Wolf, Critters, Cult of the Cat- all horrible episodes that I wish I could forget about.

 I love Moon of the Wolf and Cult of the Cat. But I'd definitely say Critters and The Forgotten are two that I'd like to forget about.

Ahhhhh!!!.....Hey Joker85, why didn't you like " Cult of the cat " ? I loved that episode! It's one of my favorite ones.
The episodes I wish I could forget about is " Moon of the wolf "and " On leathear wings " . I sort of liked " The Forgotten" especially the part when Alfred flew the batjet and the touchy part when Bruce was happy to see his old friend.(Awwww!...wasn't that part cute or what! :o )

Well, the easiest way to quote someone is to simply hit the little "reply" button at the top of the post you want to quote. Otherwise you type out the quote you want in the following way:

{QUOTE}Text you want to quote{/QUOTE}
except you want to replace each of the { above with [ and replace the } with a ].

You can also go back and edit or delete your posts with the "edit/delete" button - this allows you to erase multiple posts of the same thing. *hint, hint*

--"Critters" (lame puns like "Holy cow!", a giant bull in a china shop, giant chickens drenched in barbecue sauce) and "Girls' Night Out", because Poison Ivy came out looking one-dimensional and weak (bawling over her living topiary--hardly the sensual virago who poisoned Harvey Dent with a kiss, turned people into trees, or created her own vegetative Adams and Eves)...and all Harley had to do in that script was bop things with a rubber hammer. I can't believe a dame wrote that chozzerai--I thought women knew how to write for other women!

I never cared for the villian in "Beware the Grey Ghost" either (he was a wussy)...but the cool explosions and the fact that Adam West voiced Simon Trent saves that one from the dunghill. I'm pretty sure, also, that the heavyset clerk at the video store was modeled after Paul Dini.

'The Forgotten' and 'Moon of the Wolf' are pretty annoying (but I love 'On leather wings' and 'Cult of the Cat').

Critters is the winner though.

How can anyone not like "On Leather Wings" or "Beware the Gray Ghost"? They're two of my favorites. "OLW" was animated perfectly, the art was stunning, and the scene where DA Harvey Dent is seen flipping his coin was inspired. (Nice usage of foreshadowing :) ) And "BTGG" was great because it added another facet to Batman's character: revealing he had a childhood hero. I wish he made more appearances, though. The Gray Ghost was an awesome character.

I totally agree. ON LEATHER WINGS remains on of my top favorites, up there with HEART OF ICE. Beautiful animation and a helluva great story. I agree...I can't see how anyone could dislike this ep.

Its a real cheesy episode involving three rich guys who become arch criminals because they're bored with their lives. They wore animals masks or something. It was so forgettable I really don't remember.

That's "The Terrible Trio" :D

Nightwing

I liked The Terrible Trio okay. Of course, if they played that "creeps like these are worse than the Joker" angle a bit more, the plot would have come off more meaningfull. But I liked how we saw Bruce in that episode.

My picks are Cat Scratch Fever, and Critters. With Critters, I don't mind if an episode like that gets accidentally made ONCE in a long while, but it's just that Farmer Brown is.....ugh.

But I don't understand why no one likes The Forgotten! I prefer the gothic city setting (even more than) as much as the next batfan, but I thought it was really cool. Same with the music. I thought it had a cool fast paced feel to it, and it fit the setting the episode was in. It was catchy too.

And two UNforgettable scenes that I absolutely loved were Bruce getting his memory back (that was an excellent trip through his head) and poor poor Alfred's quarrel with the Batwing's computer.

-But master Bruce is down there!

-Negative. Area too confined.

-Land you bucket of bolts!

-Your funeral....

-Oh dear! Aaaaahhh!

I love Cult of the Cat, that is MUCH better than Scratch My Back! Catty is the best!

Basically, out of all the Bats episodes the only ones I really thought were memorable were Cat and The Claw, Mad Love, Over the Edge, Sins of Father, Old Wounds, Perchance to Dream, Cult of the Cat!!!, Double Talk, and Knight Time. All the others were one's I could easily go watch Sailor Moon, and even Rugrats over. But only the old episodes of Rugrats from before they changed the animation scheme and voices.:p Bye

Well, I can honestly say that there are no bad or forgettable Batman eps. I will watch every one of them over and over again. Especially B:TAS with the animation that gives the heroes and villians the best human attributes.

On the whole, I think the episodes of TNBA are easiler forgettable than the BTAS ones... I just feel like the Art deco style and the darker mood of the old show was more memorable than the cartoony revamped version.

On that I would agree with you, Salvor. Overall, I find the older BTAS episodes much more memorable than TNBA eps.

I think bad Episodes were: Critters, Make'em Laugh, Deep Freeze, I'VE GOT BATMAN IN MY BASEMENT, TIME OUT OF JOINT , POV, WHAT IS REALITY and The Terrible Trio.

I don't understand why everybody hates Cat Scratch Fever. I loved this episode. :)

I really dont' remember any old Batman B:TAS episodes. I know i've seen alot of them, but to remember what they were all about..is impossible. I never saw Critters.. :( Forgotten was cool, On Leather Rings, rocked, and I don't remember ever NOT liking a Batman episode.. I mean.. it's batman!

Hey:

I think the following episodes were the most forgettable,

1. The Forgotten
2. POV
3. Love is a Croc
4. Blind as a Bat
5. Critters

I can not watch these episodes cause the story is boring, hardly any action, and there the most forgettable.

Are you sure you're talking about blind as a bat???

That episode was definately one of the best! and it had a lot of action as well, just think of the Batplane chase!

I gotta say I agree with Love is a Croc. That was downright... :shudders: Sorry, but the line "What do they do at night" was just wrong. Bruce's respons, "I don't even want to think about it" was right on. Critters was really weird. I could definately forget about that one. Girls Night Out wasn't so bad, I just wish it would have been a little more... eventful? I generally like all episodes, I just wish a few would have been better. Btw, BB, I like your Han and Indy Quotes... The line when Henry Jones Sr. says: We named the dog Indy was great! I loved Indy's response, :Hey, I have a lotta good memories with that dog!Any who, that's my two cents.

I'd say that Terrific Trio has to be one of the worst episodes. those 3 guys were just sooooo annoying!

Firefly

I think these were The worst episodes

5. Tyger Tyger
4. The Cape And Cowl Conspiracy
3. The Demon Within
2. Critters
1. Legends Of The Dark Knight

Personally I think that "The Forgotten" was a great episode

I'd say these in no particular order.

Mean SEAONS: Not bad, but not really good either.

Love is a crock:i will never forget the promotion (unfortunately)

Animal act: wasn't my thing.

Girl's night out: This was was to girl powerish.

Chemistry: Bruce married? Nah.

I've got Batman in my basement: Jinkies Velma.

Moon of the wolf: Shoot him with a lead bullet.

Terrible Trio: Annoying brats, the result of being excesively spoiled.

Showdown: just not batmanish.

A bullet for Bulock: I don't know, it's kinda of in left field.

I totally forgot about BATMAN IN MY BASEMENT. That seems like the kind of series KWB would make 13 episode sout of. Actually, I'm suprised they haven't. Poor animation anda laughably bad fight between Penguin and Batman. A screwdriver? COME ON? A SCREWDRIVER?
