I was surprised they did not use Kyle Rayner for Green Lantern. Not only to keep with continuity, but he is young and his inexperience could have produced some good story lines. I understand maybe the writers wanted a Black character. But, their are other characters they could have used. They could of used Steel.
ps-Although, I will always prefer Hal Jordan, because thats who I grew up reading.

Well they almost completely made Kyle into Hal in the Superman episode. Well they probably didn't want the Kyle haters(who are all over the DC boards) to not watch the show, and didn't want to show Hal because of the fact he went Crazy(they still can thought).
well I'm a fan of All GL's(and theo other members of the JLA)

I assume Hawkgirl will fill this role since I doubt they'll have a 30-year old "girl."

My theory is that they needed a token black character for the show. I am not a racist in any way, but my big beef with black people in these cartoon, is that they have all the same person. Steel from the Superman show was boring! Flat out boring! They need to be developed, humanistic characters. Less like Steel and more like Jay, from Men in Black. Someone who is going to identify with viewers. Don't throuw a character in just because he's black. Make sure he's a character I want to root for.
Cheers.

I'm with Bobby, except I liked the microscopic amount of Steel we got in Superman. It just wasn't enough. They could have developed him more.
I love Kyle. I loved his inexperienced shy personality from "In Brightest Day" and I wanted that in The Justice League. If the reason behind putting Stewart in the show is ONLY to have a black character, I will be very dissapointed. Plus the persons who made that decision might just be inclined to make more like it....

I still say go with Hal, and then have the Emerald Twighlight thing happen to him like at the end of season 2 or 3.

It baffles me why all those "Kyle Haters" still pick up the book. It's a top 50 book, yet they still complain. Timm even admitted they used Stewart becuase of skin color. They said having a team of white people fighting crime would be "silly" so they through in Stewart. Still, I can't wait for the series, and I know they made a good choice. I'm not a big GL fan so it matters not which GL they use. Although I don't like how they're just ignoring IN BRIGHTEST DAY... like that.

I agree DG, i don't care which GL they use, but i do care that it's not explained and contrasting w/ what we've already seen in Superman.
