If Hawkman is the same guy as Warhawk from the Batman Beyond JLU, then maybe we'll see him at some point.
I wrote a short treatment about this very thing involving Hawkman's journey through space in search of Hawkgirl. Eventually he finds her, but it's several years later and she has since retired from the League. That's just my idea anyway.

I would say if an episode were made on Hawkgirl's background and Thanagarian roots it would only be natural to have Hawkman show up at some point.
Here's hoping!

Howdy,
BT stated in an interview about season 2 that Hawkman is still not in the foreseeable future. The reason, I think, is really structural. If Hawkman shows up, the episode can only end in one of three ways:
1. Hawkman gets stranded on Earth as well, and possibly joins the Justice League
2. Hawkgirl returns to Thanagar with Hawkman, and someone else takes her place in the League
3. Hawkgirl gets a compelling reason not to go back to Thanagar
I don't think the writers are quite ready to tackle this one yet, just like they're not ready to tackle the question of Kyle Rayner from STAS.

I hope Hawkman doesn't show up. If he does I won't be happy.

I don't want Hawkman either. I think if done wrong, it can actually take away from the character of Hawkgirl. I can't come up with a valid reason/point right now.
BUT, if Hawkman ever at all is shown on Justice League - I'd rather see him in one of Shayera's flashbacks. Something that will let us know he's there w/o interacting with the League.
:( Thoughts on something like that?

I would love to see Hawkman, but ONLY is a flashback-to-Thanagar situation and not here on Earth. Ace the Bathound pretty much nailed the problems that would cause right on the head... Good Work, old chum !! :D

I'm not sure those are the only alternatives. For example, Hawkgirl could have flashbacks to a time when she was on Thanagar, working with Hawkman.
And one could also do a lot with option #3.
For example, perhaps Hawkman dies. Or maybe the Hawkgod destroys Thanagar. Or for something less idiotic, perhaps Hawkgirl takes on the role of a reverse-Adam Strange, able to visit Thanagar only for brief periods of time due to zeta-beam radiation wearing off.
Or perhaps she ends up as a political exile from Thanagar after finding a way to physically return. Or perhaps the "equalizing plague" that affected Thanagar in the comics affects Hawkman as well as the other Thanagarians, leaving only Hawkgirl untouched.

or maybe her love for GL forces her to stay on earth. :p
sorry, had to add that. i don't want to see that happen.
hawkman is a bad idea right now, imo. maybe in season 6.

Of course, you're right -- those possibilties are also valid ways to end the story. I'd even promote the last suggestion I quoted from your post as option #5. It's just one I hadn't considered (he is a DC icon, regardless of how badly continuity and random plot twists have mangled him). For that matter, it could even be Hawkgirl that dies and Hawkman who replaces her in the League (tho' I suspect that wouldn't be too popular).
Here's one thing I kind of wondered about idly one day. If the GL Corps is run by the Guardians of the Universe, and Hawkgirl still can't find her way back to Thanagar despite having access to a GL, what does that mean for Thanagar? Either GL is holding back (no doubt due to his uncontrollable schoolboy crush =8^) or Thanagar is in one of those alternate universes they used in "Legends."

I hope Hawkman eventually shows up in a JL ep. And it probably wouldn't be any worse than War World, but I think a Hawkman ep would be really good.(Sorry, but War World was just bad ;) )

Well, in the latest silly revamp of Hawkman, they put Thanagar in the "Polaris galaxy" rather than having Thanagar orbit the real world star of Polaris.
It is possible that the animated GLs are actually limited to one galaxy, since the distance between galaxies is, like, really really big, so if Thanagar is in another galaxy (long ago and far, far away), it might be too far for any GLs.
On the other hand, the fact that GL won't take her home might be a consequence of the usual "Don't use your powers for your own personal gain" attitude.

It's funny: I don't even get the impression that she wants to go home - she hasn't expressed this desire once in any of the episodes. So maybe Hawkman is dead, or at the very least she doesn't want to talk to him.
