I was at the music store today, and they were having a big sale in the video section, including "Big Top Bunny".Old news, perhaps, but I'll review it just thhe same. I didn't have this one, and it had a bunch of cartoons I didn't have, and had not seen in original, un-messed with form (Would wait for June Bugs, but God only knows what'll happen to them.) The whole thing was enjoyable. I liked all of the cartoons on there, a lot were not even listed! I thought"Foxy By Proxy" and "Rabbit Rampage" were good, (Don't think I'd seen those before). There were a few more I knew about but hadn't seen in a long time. Great video, great deal, definitely worth the 12 bucks.
The only one I didn't think was funny, in my opinion, was "Baton Bunny". It was kind of like "Long Haired Hare" with the humor removed...well animated, well orchestrated, but a snooze nonetheless. At least the original credits were included, I remember seeing it once before years ago, and I don't remember that title card...was this an ABC cartoon for a long time, I guess? 2 pre-1948's made the cut, I thought "Tortoise Beats Hare" looked the best. A "dubbed version" looks much better on tape than TV.
