I had a thought, wouldnt it be pretty cool if during a later season of JLA they have Doomsday come to town and do a Death and Return of Superman? Of course modifcations would need to be made but I think it'd be a cool 3 or 4 parter. If I remember correctly in the comics the JLA did fight him so it would work since this is a JLA series. What do you all think if they did that?

I'm all for Doomsday on JLA. Death of Superman was a great thing. I could live without the return though. :D

I would love to see Doomsday! We have yet to see an enemy that challenges the JL in a way that he did - with pure, brute, primal, invincible force. We don't need to see the Death of Superman, although I think that would be a great story arc for the JL series, but just an enemy like Doomsday would be great for the pure action alone.
And it wouldn't have to be all action either - Doomsday's origin is pretty awesome. Maybe they could concentrate on Bertron, and the genetic experiments on Krypton as well; and maybe even make us pity the mutated murderous beast.

Doomsday would be cool.

Doomsday shouldn't be in JL. I think Timm and Co. should back a DVD/VHS Movie about the death, and rise of Superman. it should take place right be for JL. Then somewhere down the line dOOMSDAY could return on JL.
just my thoughts though.

Here's an idea: Have Superman killed by Darkseid in the second or possible third season finale, then Captain Marvel comes to take over as leader of the team in the following season. Then in the finale, have Superman return from the dead to help the team face their worst enemy yet.
Oh, the possibilities... :)
I just want to see Captain Marvel in "Justice League" eventually!

I never want to see Captain Marvel lead the Justice League. I cant even see him doing that. To my knowledge Caps never lead anybody outside The Marvels and I think Its a good isea to keep it that way.

And if Supes died, what makes you think the JL would listen to Cap Marvel? If anything Batman or GL, would Lead. Even MM.

Howdy all,
I'll be the voice of dissent here and say I definitely do NOT want to see Doomsday or a "Death of Superman" arc in JL (or, at least, I'd want it handled differently). I think Doomsday's real super power is to suck all the intelligence out of every superhero around him, making them all think the only way they can beat him is to HIT him REALLY HARD until he falls down. He's DC's version of the Hulk with a fraction of the intelligence.
Actually, I take it back. I'd like to see Doomsday in JL the same way they used the giant robot in pt 1 of "Legends." Doomsday would be the bad guy in the introductory sequence that the JL takes down in a minute using teamwork before moving on to the real story. IMO, that's about a minute more of screen time than the character actually deserves.

I'm with you Ace. The Death of Superman never resonated with me because Superman was being such an out-of-character idiot the whole time. Supes has been is dozens of fights where punching his opponent just doesn't work, and so he tries something else. But not here - DC wanted to kill Supes so they beat him to death. Only to have both and he and Doomsday comeback months later. I can live without him on JL.

Just what exactly was Doomsday's origin?

I think it would work if they didnt follow the comics exactly, like say Doomsday attacks in the first part and the justice league takes him on but Superman is dealing with another earthquake in india or something and when he arrives only flash and wonder woman are still standing and Superman tells them he will distract Doomsday with head on combat so they still work together but doomsday kills superman still but the last punch combined with a wonder woman whip hit and a flash punch takes the big guy out. Then they go onto the funneral. Part 2 we very briefy see the new super guys in town and the JL tracking them and Manhunter formulating a theory on whats going on. Possibly the JL going out to talk to them all. But the end of part 2 showing the cyborg and the aliens attacking coast city. Then Part which concludes it has superman appearing in his black uniform and him and the JL stoping the cyborg and the aliens and Superman is back and all is good.

If Superman ever dies and returns in "Justice League," it should not happen over the course of two episodes. It should be something that's dealt with all season long. Here's my idea for a three parter, season finale:
We still Doomsday's origin and then have him arriving on Earth, attacking innocent civilians. Green Lantern, Hawkgirl and the Flash are the first to arrive at the scene. As many innocent lives are being lost, Green Lantern attacks Doomsday head on. As Green Lantern attacks, Doomsday turns around and grabs him with his arm, eventually breaking GL's back. As a now injured GL is left in pain, Superman and the rest of the team arrive, seeing the true horror that has occured. Superman, in a fit of rage, attacks Doomsday, going all out, not holding anything back. They battle continously and Superman kills Doomsday, by dies of of the injuries he sustained. There is a funeral for Superman, with many of his friends attending, including the entire Justice League. End of season 2 or 3.
Season Premiere (Season 3 or 4):
Several months have passed since the events of "Doomsday." John is shown in recovery, but GL Kyle has joined the team until John is able to return, if possible. A now wheel-chair bound, John is still an active part of the team, but he however commands the team from the Watchtower. Captain Marvel joins the team, but as a part time member only. This season, the under-lying theme is the loss of Superman and it has many repurcussions on things. Everyone starts re-evaluating things, especially Batman.
At the end of the season, an evil threat attacks Earth. Superman returns (haven't figured out yet how) and he, and Captain Marvel get to fight side by side, along with various other heroes. They finally defeat the threat. At the end of the episode, we see John taking his first steps again and putting on his ring again. End of season.
Okay, I am not familiar with the comics, so my details are sketchy on the death/return of Superman. However, if the "JL" creative crew ever ponders a Doomsday/Death of Superman storyline, it has to be season-wide, like I mentioned. I mean, we know they won't keep him dead, but his original death must have repurcussions and should not be done just for the heck of it.

I dont think Doomsday should not appear in the Justice League because hes too much of a hassel. He carries the baggage of killing Superman and then if they change the way of the outcome people will be made, not staying true to the original comic book character. :D

Superman returned because his body regerated with Solar energy in the fortress of Solitude I believe. Eradicator brought him there i also think. I have all the comics for the Death and Return Arc but I havent read them all so i might be wrong.

You could make an entire season out of the death and return of Superman.

I don't want the Death of Superman at all. I feel that the whole mess was a story put together to sell bad Superman comics (which couldn't be bothered to have good stories back then).
As for Doomsday himself, he could have been beaten, but the creative team underplayed everybody he fought to make him look stronger. Think about it: during Doomsday's three appearances he knocked around everybody regardless of power level, even characters that Superman could barely fight one-on-one himself (Darkseid, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter). If I want to see the Justice League face a creature like that I'd rather see them fight Despero.
The only way I'd stomach a Doomsday appearance is if it's part of a Brainiac story. It would make more sense, considering that Brainiac is also from Krypton and would know about the monster.
