Universal's "Jurassic Park III" saw a huge opening at the box office on Wednesday taking in $19.02 million. At only 94 minutes, the sequel starring Sam Neill looks to be on its way for a massive 5-day opening this weekend. The next closest film for the day was "Legally Blonde" with $2.78 million.

Holy crap! Really makes me wonder what the Friday through Sunday take will be. At this rate, it just might beat TLW's record of $72 million!

If it depreciates 20% every day, it should wind up close or over the total. I think we could be looking at a $90 mill weekend gross. Then again, we all predicted big things for FF...and look where that went. But JP3 is the event of the summer, aside from POTA.

JP3 will obviously do well. But, IMHO, I think POTA will be the movie of the summer.

I predict a $60 mill wekeend for POTA. As for JP3, it'll gross about $90 mill and then gross up around $210 mill. The question is, will any movie this year top SHREK? POTA and JP3 have big chances to. POTA could be a huge hit becuase EVERYONE knows this movie. It could even reach $300 mill perhaps.

Which if that happened, it would make Tim Burton an even more wanted director. Which is great! I've seen all of his movies and have loved every one of them.

So is JPIII worth seeing then? I haven't seen it or Final Fantasy yet and I'm trying to decide whether to see either or wait for Planet of the Apes. I hate shelling out money to see movies unless they really rock. Any suggestions?
