I don't know the title, I can't remember which Daffy cartoon it comes from BUT I have been humming it off and on for 2 days:
She was an acrobat's daughter,
She swung by her teeth from a noose.
But one matinee, her bridge-work gave way
And she flew through the air like a goose!
And, of course, Bugs' renditions of "Someone's Rockin' My Dreamboat" & "Tradewinds"

That's from "Daffy Doodles," Robert McKimson's first official directoral effort for WB. the song is called "She Was An Acrobat's Daughter," but I don't believe those are the real words.

THE LYRICS as presented in the 1937 Merrie Melodie "She Was an Acrobat's Daughter":
She was an acrobat's daughter,
Her muscles they swelled up like yeast
One look at her face
made guys keep their place
'Cause she feared neither Boy, Man not Beast
She was an acrobat's daughter,
She often tamed lions besides
One bit her named Jack
and she bit him right back
In two days the poor lion died
OK, I have a favorite tune that was played in a handful of WB cartoons from 1938 and 1939, then was never heard again. I have no idea what it's called, and I've been wondering about it for several years. Any of you know what this "mystery tune" could be?
You can hear it in:
-"Count Me Out", when Egghead sits on Biff Stew's lap and imitates Charlie McCarthy
-"The Daffy Doc", when Daffy escapes from the Iron Lung (the first time) and then tries to keep various parts of his body from swelling with air
-"Hamateur Night", in two scenes showing the Laughing Hippo
-"Naughty but Mice", while Sniffles drukenly staggers along the shelf till he crashes into the Electric Razor

You can hear most of thses songs from the Carl Stalling CD's. My favorite album is "That's All Folks (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005N836/qid%3D1020083656/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F0%5F1/102-9315657-8491314) " Its has most of my most favorite and intoduced me to new ones.

Howzabout Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone ? It's one of the best kissoff songs ever. Michigan J. Frog sings it to the construction worker (now asylum inmate) while leaning against one of the bars in the window and reprises it just before he gets ditched in the cornerstone of the new Tregoweth Brown building. A little bit of knife twisting courtesy of Chuck Jones and Carl Stalling. ;)

Anyone know the name of that tune played whenever Bugs does a tapdance routine? It's in "Stage Door Cartoon," "Bugs Bunny Rides Again," and "Hot Cross Bunny" to name a few.

All I've ever read about that piece is that it's always referred to by Stalling as the "Buck-and-Wing" theme. I don't know if that was the title or it was a piece made up by Stalling for just those occasions in the cartoons that used it.
More for the list:
"A Coffee, A Sandwich, and You"
"Kiss Me Quick"
"Sweet Georgia Brown" - best rendition: "The Isle Of Pingo Pongo"
"Nagasaki" - See "Tin Pan Alley Cats" (what's the other cartoon that uses this same song? Is it "September In The Rain?"
"Meow" - See "A Gruesome Twosome" (WB)
"One More Time" - from the cartoon of the same name
"You're Driving Me Crazy" - See "Silly Scandals" (Fleischer)

Oh yes, his version is so wonderfully off-key!! :D
Does anybody else know what the African-themed music is that's usually played in WB cartoons? A good example of it is in "Which is Witch" when the Zulus go walking by the Witch doctor with Bugs Bunny in the line, and also at the opening scenes of "Gorilla My Dreams".

Just a side note on that: Apparantly when PBS aired the documentary on Chuck Jones they couldn't clear rights to that song when the clip of "One Froggy Evening" aired, so it was dubbed over.

A little off topic but does anyone know the name of the song that always plays when the sun is rising/someone is waking in Looney Tunes cartoons? I have been trying to find it for a while now.
