Well, DG missed posting this, cuz the boards were down for some of us, and I don't see it yet...so I guess I will step in!
I know these aren't all the releases out this week, but these are the ones reviewed at DVDFile.com, anyway:
Never Say Never Again
> Family Man
> Notting Hill: Ultimate Edition
> Meet Joe Black: Ultimate Edition
> Patch Adams: Ultimate Edition
> Sugar & Spice
> Mommie Dearest
> Book Of Pooh: Stories From The Heart
Is it just me, or is there nothing new out this week worth buying?
I got me three DVDs this week. I finally bought James and the Giant Peach, and I also broke down and bought Monkeybone. Yeah, I decided that was a far better movie than people were giving it credit for and I really want to watch it with director's commentary.
The third came out a few weeks ago but I finally picked it up. V-the Original Miniseries is a DVD worth owning not only for sci fi fans but for fans of good TV. This mini series first premiered on NBC in 1983, and yes, I am old enough to remember watching it for the first time! One thing I was sad to see gone from the disc were the original commercials, because I felt NBC really did a good job in building up the anticipation for this show without giving anything away, and then delivering on their promises.
There is a minor gripe about the DVD cover art, tho, and that the back cover gives away a MAJOR SPOILER, a spoiler NBC would have NEVER given away before the mini series premiered. It's sad that people who have never see this great and innovative show (if it wasn't for V, there would have been no ID4. And V is much, much better than ID4) will have this spoiler on the back cover. Thumbs up, way up, for the DVD, but way down for Warner for the art work on the DVD cover.
