I knew I would love this cartoon before I even saw it for the first time a few months ago. This is one of the best early color Merrie Melodies.

"Aloha Hooey"
The Goofy-voiced crow was a hoot. Fav line: "I didn't know I could light this thing underwater. Underwater?!" Sammy sure concedes the dame to him fast and without a fight...and how dooes a guy who just got beat up by a starfish effortlessly beat up a 600-lb. ape two minutes later? Loved the female bird's accent.
"Dicky Moe" (MGM, Tom and Jerry)
Worst Dietch ever--bad animation, awful SFX, miserable music. I turned the channel.
"I Yam Love Sick" (Popeye)
Trippy design on the hospital interior, with the doors and the curving hallways. Fav scene: Popeye's X-ray (well, it stands to reason a sailor's skeleton would resemble an anchor).
"Ventriloquist Cat" (MGM)
Slightly overplayed, but an Avery classic. Is that the same cat as in "Bad Luck Blackie"? The ending is, of course, my favorite part--poor cat stuck between a rock and a hard place. DYN that the bulldog and the cop share a taste in tattoos and shorts?
"Pigs is Pigs"
Sort of trippy. A food-loving pig subjected to a gustatory hell. I thought the bald, hiccupping (?) scientist was fattening him up for roasting, but all he did at the end was blow up. The ending fell flat--I was expecting a comic twist, like the scientist from Piggy's nightmare seated at the dinner table, at the end. It was almost like the joke got cut.
