ok me and my freinds were tryin to think of the name to this movie tonight my one freind said it was really popular but we cant think of what it is called ....... i guess to help make it on topic if anyone knows what it is have you seen it on dvd anyway it's an old new york type movie and this kid whose has blue collar parents and he befreinds the neghborhood mob boss basically he grows up bein buddy to the boss and i think the boss gets shot in the end again sorry if this is off topic but it's been buggin me for the last few days thanks

The Freshmen i Believe with Matthew Broderick and Marlon Brando, and Penelop Anne Miller ... I think it was the Freshman. Do they carry around a Komoto Dragon for part of the movie, and they cook exotic animals at Brandos restaurant? from your quite vague discription Im going on a very good memeory

yeah i guess when it came out would have helped it was like mid-nineties..... i know it wasn't goodfellas sorry it's a vague description i remember the kid threw dice crabs? for him and made him a lot of money and they went to the horse races when they got older...and the one main scene that always sticks out in my head was the mob guy told the kid when he goes on a date to always have his car door locked and see if the girl reaches over and unlocks it for him and if she doesn't she ain't worth it..then his girl does it and he flips out (with happiness) ....i'm pretty sure it was around the time donnie brasco came out cause at first we thought it was that and realized we were wrong thanks for the help guys we'll figure it out yet! :p

The movie is called "A Bronx Tale". It starred Robert DeNiro and Chazz Palmentieri. It was set in the 60's through 70's. DeNiro's (who is a bus driver) son is in awe of Chazz's (who is a mob boss). So he befriends him and wants to be part of the gang. This infuriates his father. But, Chazz also really doesn't want him to get to involved in the bad crowd. Their is a whole subplot of the rivalry between the Italians & the Blacks. Which comes to blows near the end.
