Whew that was quite a trip all kinds of goodness roled up into some of the best showmanship I've ever seen. Every once in a while a show comes along that reminds me why I like animation and cartoons.

It all started with Kenshin remembering his past and then the reapperance of his old foe Saito. Then the qay he left to go off to face Shishio. Everything in the series just came to such a head in such a tremendous way that it achieved drama higher then most shows/ works of fiction I've ever seen. Yeah there was a little bit of suspension of disbelief in their fighting and stuff (especially Shishio), and that they almost ruined it with that whole "in hell scene" it was all worth it in the end.

BTW Am I mistaken in thinking that the grave he visited was that of Tomoe, his wife and Enishi's sister? Cuz that's the only one I can think of at this moment as to who it might be.

Tomoe, his wife and Enishi's sister?

Yeah, I think that's right. I hope you enjoyed the Kyoto Arc, because that's as good as the anime gets I'm afraid, the rest of the series is pretty boring since the Jinchuu Arc wasn't animated.

I don't get why they didn't give us the Jinchu arc personally. But the way They gave us the Kyoto arcit would be very hard to top that level of quality.

I know what you mean, I was geting DBZ flashbacks from that. But, Kenshin's battle with Shishio had to of been the best fight in the whole series. The only battle that came close to it was Kenshin's battle with Soujiro.

I don't really know the reason to that myself, it would seem to be the best thing to do, and not go off and make your own arc (because look how that turned out).

But actually when you stop and think about it you realize that the Tokyo arc was filled with all kinds of filler eps you know.I mean like the one with the pirate girl and stuff.

I personally enjoyed the fight again Sojirou more then the Shishio one. I mean it was just so tragic the way he was treated as a child. The battle with Shishio was nice though, I nearly hit the floor when he used "secret sword #2" that was insane. And then when Saito came flying out of nowhere with a full on Gatosu, that was madness too.

And then there's Hiko vs. The Destruction Army, how he just showed up and saves Yahiko. That shot they used of him blocking the sword was just incredible.

BTW My personal favorite battle was Kenshin vs. Saito, that just had it all nearly perfect dialouge, Saito pushing until he got happy go Lucky Kenshin turning into the dark manslayer, the fantastic animation set against the dark background of the dojo. whew.

I'll agree I found the Shishio fight a little anticlimactic after the Saito and Soujiro fights. That last one especially. . . damn, I love good plot.

I think the reason the Revenge arc wasn't animated because it was still being finished in the manga at the time the show ran. They were obviously planning to include it eventually. You can find models sheets and character art for Enishi all over the place, but the ratings took a nose dive under all the filler, so they were never used.

I hear the second OAV that was just released has something to do with it though.
