What's your favorite BB/Zeta crossover episode? The three choices are Zeta, Shadows and Countdown. I'm voting for Countdown, Zeta (the episode, not the show) and Shadows kind of sucked. (Well, it isn't really a crossover, but i'll include it anyway.)

Countdown was probably the best out of all three of the crossovers. While a lot of people think Shadows sucked I thought it was still a fairly good ep mainly because we see Terry question his initial decision to let Zeta go and believes that he's responsible for the destruction of part of Gothams shopping mall.

Countdown smokes the other 2 badly. Hey, does anyone know who voiced Zeta and Agent Bennet in Zeta because they look and sound different than in Countdown. What was with the design change anyway? Hey, maybe in a future Zeta episode it could involve a robot that has Zeta's first design, not his current one. By the way I like the new design and new voice a lot more though.

I liked the animation of "Countdown" a lot better, but being the obsessed ZeeRoshipper that I am, I had to vote for "Shadows." :D Besides, someone had to!

Tmansdc, Gary Cole voiced Zeta in his first BB appearance and was replaced by Diedrich Bader (who was a much better choice IMO, since he can do the naive robot voice so well) and Bennet was voiced by Joe Spano in "Zeta" and "Plague." For TZP, he was replaced by Kurtwood Smith.

Here are a few things about the design change, from the interview with Ovi Nedelcu (original character designer) at my site:

Did you have any inspirations for the characters, and was the animation of "Batman Beyond" a major influence on the designs? How far were you allowed to stray from the original designs of Zeta and Bennet?
I'll start from the latter. There was a character named Zeta on the Batman Beyond series, which I took and revamped. The original didn’t have a head so I designed one for it, but at the same time, decided to change the body as well. To give a more “human” look. As far as inspiration goes, well yes I was influenced by the Batman style at the time.

In the BB episode "Zeta," the synthoid had no head. Whose idea was it to give him one in the spinoff?
It was Bob Goodman (creator) and Alan Burnett's idea to give him a head. I just designed it.

I have to vote for "Zeta". It had a better story IMO.

I'd have to say "Countdown". I like the animation, and the whole story is fun to watch. Plus, you gotta love Mad Stan! :p I really, really like "Shadows" too, though, so it was a tough choice.

Hmm . . . I notice that the Max-heavy "Zeta" is not getting many votes :D It's all good. I liked Countdown a lot better, myself.

The words from that ep that sealed it for me:

"Ticky-tock, man. Ticky-tock."

Mad Stan made that ep.

Today's episode "Ro's Gift" had a crossover too.

yes, it did have a crossover, but I only consider it a true crossover if BATMAN AND BRUCE WAYNE ARE INVOLVED! okay? Thank you.

I will not include any episodes where batman beyond villians have appeared until Season 2 is completely done. There are still eight or nine episodes left to go (unless they want to hold over some season 2 episodes for next season. God I hope not.)

"Plague" of BB had Bennet in it. (Does that count for a crossover?)

NO! Only episodes that had ZETA and Terry/Batman in them count.

Weren't "Shadows" and "Countdown" written by the same person?

Which one happened first?

"Countdown" came first

Yes, Shadows and Countdown were written by the same guy Rich Fogel, but I think someone else had a written by credit on "Countdown" too.

I went with "Zeta." It was darker than all of them.
