I know what many of you guys are thinking.."Uh-oh, there he goes again! " Wrong. Read below and see for yourself.

Dear Ms. Goldberg,

My name is Dennis Baker, AKA "Dendawg" on the Toon Zone message board "Termite Terrace Trading Post." As you may have gathered by this time, I am the person who originally started the petition to have you removed from your position. I would like to take this opportunity to publicly apologize to you, and all other members of Toonzone, as my opinion is not necessarily representative of theirs.

I do understand your frustration at my actions. However, before you react, think about how your networks' actions have frustrated us classic animation fans. Please read the following excerpt from your quote that inspired my actions below:

Do you realize how many potential fans you could turn off by a statement like that? Granted, you are probably under a lot of pressure. However, I feel that does not justify risking alienating your oldest fans. As difficult as it may be to believe, there are fans of "Goober and the Ghostchasers" also.

I do not believe that we fans are asking anything too incredibly difficult. After all, if it wasn't for animation fans like us, it is more than likely that "Cartoon Cartoons" would not exist today, much less become the flagship franchise that it seems to be today.

It's just that us classic animation fans have been left out in the cold, seemingly, by the expansion of "Cartoon Cartoons." I fervently hope that that isn't so.

Again, I apologize for my petiton, and hope that Speedy Gonzales, along with other unseen classic animation characters, appear on Cartoon Network.

Thank you for your time,
Dennis Baker

Good letter. I was a little angry about that comment and many others, but fighting back with negativity won't help.

A well-written letter. It is very wise of you to approach this issue tactfully while still earnestly promoting your viewpoint (which is also the viewpoint of many of us).

Very nice letter, Dennis. Hopefully the olive branch you have extended will be taken to heart.

Not so sure people like that will accept apology, but it is definitely worth a try. ;)

Update:

Today, I printed a copy of the letter I composed in this very thread and sent it off via snail mail. Those wishing to send letters to Ms. Goldberg try this address:

Laurie Goldberg c/o Cartoon Network
1050 Techwood Dr.
Atlanta, GA 30318

And people, take it from me, please keep it civil. :)

On another note, I wonder if she has a brother named Bill.
(Sorry, couldn't resist! ;) :D )
