Do any of you here have any favourite cartoons from the 1980s?
Personally, my favourite would have to be ThunderCats, for numerous reasons, but I also love He-Man & The Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, TransFormers, G.I.Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and many others.
So, what about you? :)

Centurions: Power Extreame!!! Now here was a cool concept, they could bring this show back and make it cool.
Dinosaucers: This show would probably be painful for me to watch now, but it was cool back in the day.

Well, with me hands down it's He-Man! Hell, look at my avatar. :) Then of course comes She-Ra. But I love all the cartoons from the 80's. Transformers was great. GI Joe, Thundercats. All of which I have videos of. I taped the entire episode run of Thundercats when it first aired on Cartoon Network. Same with Voltron. Have most of He-Man and She-Ra too.
Centurions was great too! Cartoon Network aired them for a bit 3 years ago I belive. They did re-aired Silver Hawks recently and then quit again, but I haven't seen Centurions on for a while. The Real Ghostbusters was a great show too. The first two seasons or so were the best cause they were the darkest in tone story wise. Same with TMNT. The story and animation were great when it started, but then it got kinda bad. I still watched it being a kid, but even at the young age I was at, I seem to notice that stuff. :)
Well, let's see, other great 80's shows were RoboTech, The Inhumanoids, MASK, Bravestarr, Go-Bots, Heathcliffe, and C.O.P.S. just to name a few. For the girls there was She-Ra, Rainbow Brite, JEM, My Little Pony, Care Bears (I watched that one too actually) Yes, the 80's were a great time for cartoons. In the 90's there just hasn't been a lot of stuff that has impressed me as much as I was a kid, of course maybe that's because I was easy to amuse when I was younger. :)

Some of the cartoons I enjoyed watching were The Real Ghostbusters, Transformers, G.I. Joe, He-man, She-ra, Thundercats, and C.O.P.S.

none. All 80s cartoons suck.
Just kidding! Actually, I do have some, but I get the feeling they are better in memory than in reruns, but they still have good value to me!
Spiderman and His Amazing Friends and the Incredible Hulk, which i watced every week, no matter how many times they re ran them. Those two shows also got me in to my life long addiction to comic books!
Dungeons and Dragons. I do wish they would get this series back on TV or put it out on DVD.
Great Space Coaster. Ok, not a cartoon, at least not 100%, but it was one of the best kids shows I ever watched.
Inhumanoids.
Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures. Heck, this is the best cartoon of the 90s too!
Robotech.
Star Blazers.

The 80's Dungeons and Dragons was on Fox Kids last year. It came on Saturdays and it only aired the series 13 episodes or however many it had once and then they took it off.

Hey, do you know where I'd be able to find Bravestarr episodes? I loved that show, but haven't seen or heard anything about it since it was on in the 80s's.

well for me its hard to lump all the 80s toons into one catagory. i almost have to split it up, like early 80s and later 80s. For the earlier 80s i loved heman, shera, thundercats, transformers, punkie brooster (yes, i was young), even rainbow bright. i also liked the carebears and fat albert.
now, in the later 80s i loved teenage mutant ninja turtles, denace the menace, alvin and the chipmunks, the real ghostbusters, and the other ghostbusters show (i forget the original title, the one with the ape and the organ playing bad guy). 80s toons kick *****$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!!!!!! peace!

G.I. Joe and TMNT were awesome but my all time favorite 80's cartoon will always be Ghostbusters, it was just so cool, and much better than the movies.

I enjoyed Transformers, The Incredible Hulk and MASK (however while the first two are srill watchable, MASK is totally awful).
My all time favourites were:
He-Man - Wonderful show. Brilliant score and Skeletor. Just saying his name is funny. I remember comedian Richard Herring bringing his name up on a show and it just make made me roar with laughter. I have so many fond memories of that villian (Skeletor, not Richard Herring).
Not technically an 80's cartoon, but it garnered a large following in that decade, Battle Of The Planets. Again, perfect score, wonderful gadgets and excelllent stories. I will say no mre but point you to my BotP website at Battle Of The Planets (http://www.worldzone.net/scifi/eagleken) website.

I totally love Ghostbusters and TMNT Season 1 before the crappy American team took over and they stopped airing the anime series. GI Joe and Transformers were great. I still love the movies. But Thundercats?? Come on! The show was great as a kid, but I rewatched it and realized how much it truly stinks.

Yes! I loved that cartoon. It was the first really good toon I ever saw. I personally think it set the stage for Ren and Stimpy.
I went to church back in the eighties and one Sunday they passed out this flyer about how Mighty Mouse was encouraging kids to do drugs. There was a scene where MM was getting beat. Well he pulls this flower out of his pocket that his girlfriend had given him and sniffs it up into his nose and is rejuvenated. This flyer said that equaled cocaine use and encouraged parents to send letters to the network telling it they'd boycott the station if they don't quit showing MM.
It did stop airing shortly after that. I wonder if that's why? Yet another reason I quit going to church. Spoilsports!

TMNT has always been American, though the first season was animated in Japan. That still doesn't explain the decline in writing, as ALL the seasons were written in America.
But I agree, the first season was aesthetically more appealing, and the writing was witty. And April looked AWESOME in season 1!

Hmmm...in CHURCH? It amazes me when churches have the time to boycott stupid things like TV shows and movies and even places you shop at. Jesus never seemed to care much about boycotting things. In fact, He often befriended the people who the relgious folk of that time were boycotting.
If Jesus spent His time boycotting things the way His Church does today, He would have never found time to go to the cross.
And one more thing, What Would Jesus Do? I know Jesus would never wear a stupid WWJD bracelet!

There were cartoons in the '80s?! How come all I remember is the Smurfs and the occasional Strawberry Shortcake special?
Note: I did not watch these. No real boy watched these. Ever. These shows were girly. The fact that I can even remember that SbSc's boyfriend was Huckleberry Pie and they were always trying to stop the Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak is a fluke and memory trick.

I always saw Jesus as a toering and giant Star of David pendant man myself.

One of peoples bigest mistakes people make is judging Jesus by what the church does. Jesus didn't like religious people like the pharieses (spelling) because they said one thing and did another. He still loved them even though he didn't like them.
