The best characters are the ones that never quit or the ones that just don't back down and are consumed by their own ambition to do good or evil.
I mean, whether it's for better or for worse; you gotta admire that character who's willing to sacrifice everything to reach their goals.
Here's the story of Maria (http://www.fortunecity.com/tatooine/halojones/75/jetman/maria.html), who is of the pre-Power Rangers/Zyuranger series called Jetman.
Her story started with true love, turned to a thirst for power, sided with the demons and ended up paying the ultimate price.
And for you Green Ranger fans out there that remember the "tragic" story of Tommy.... I think you'll be quite surprised to find that that kid had it easy. His Japanese counterpart The Dragon Ranger (http://www.fortunecity.com/tatooine/halojones/75/sentai/zrburai.html) wishes he had it so lucky. Burai is his name and he struggled to with his hatred for his brother, the Red Ranger, revenge for his parents, and eventually rose to become a hero!
But in the end, that wasn't enough to save him. He risked it all and gave it all to save the world and a little boy. No he did not "Pass Go", did not collect 200 dollars and he wasn't given a second chance to go on as the White Ranger. Burai gave up his life..... for the greater good.
*sniff*
