I was channel surfing during the CN commercial break, and happened to catch Tony Snow on Fox News Channel mentioning the fact that WB censored June Bugs.

Now, that this story is starting to make national headlines, do you think it will be helpful to get the censored cartoons back on the air?

The only way it's going to help is if the fans gather together and make their opinions known. I hope that even some Indians and black people can step up and say how ridiculous this is.

I am 1/8 Cherokee Indian. Do the Indian stereotypes affect me? Not in the least.

Also note that I said Indian, not Native American. I hate that term.

It's just cartoons!

I'm not trying to be mean-spirited, but anyone who is offended by cartoons really needs to get a life.

I used to stutter (when I was much younger), but I don't go around trying to get Porky cartoons banned!

I calculated the amount of WB cartoons that appear to be banned from TV for ethnic stereotypes and other "bad" stuff is around 90-100.

Cartoon Network roughly shows only 105 unique cartoons (excluding repeats) a week.

That's only 17-18 hours!

They own over 200 Popeye's, 1000+ LT/MM, 400+ MGM cartoons, and they just have 17-18 hours out of 168 for a week....Sad, isn't it?

They don't even have a normal speed print of What's Opera, Doc.

Uhm, what is wrong with "Native American"?
I don't like the term Indian, not because it's "politically incorrect", but because "American Indians" aren't from India!

If anything, this publicity will put the final nail in the coffin for there being ANY chance of these cartoons ever being shown. All this has served to do is alert a bunch of potential troublemakers that these films exist, thus giving them something brand new to cry about. Had the original idea for June Bugs gone off as planned, there was a good chance there would have been no protests (has anyone heard any national complaints regarding some of CN's recent late-night programming choices??), but now, the Genie has been let out of the bottle, so to speak, and the bad part is: The films didn't even get shown! But now that the entire world has been made aware that there are "racist" Bugs Bunny cartoons, you can bet that these will never be shown. CN is not going to risk a TON of potential trouble simply to please us few hundred animaton buffs. Sad...
