hi peoples im a new member yep yep, im 16 f from wisconsin usa, and i wanna thank cooke for such a wonderful site, i never would have guessed all that i have been missing watching my favorite cartoons all these years, but your page reminded me that my friend had a video on his computer an old commercial of flinstones where fred and barney hide in the garage to smoke ciggaretes, i believe its a marlboro comercial but i could be wrong, im not even sure if its original or some fake, but i will try to get it from him myself so if anyone is interested in it i can send it to them also, im curious to know if its a real commercial er not too.

Oh, that's not a fake. You can download the sound of the commercial on the toon tracker site. I think you can also buy it on one of those animated commercial tapes sold through the whole toon catalog. I didn't think it was that brand, though. What was it, Laramee?

Actually, Fred's brand had letters in common with his surname - Winston. I found a video (if it's still in print, I have no idea) with this and other cartoon rarities (or so they say) at http://www.flashbacks.com/pagevt006.html.
You might also try http://www.tvparty.com/, ah believe they also have a copy (if streaming video is not a problem for you).

At a collectibles show, I've seen the "Rise and Shine" opening credits with the plug for Winston at the end intact (in B & W, though).

I've seen the commercial on VHS tape. I hope they do the right thing and put these old toon commercials out on DVD, and don't change them for anything!
