I realize I should have posted this earlier but...
As I was watching a tape of The World's Finest, and as I was fast forwarding to get to the next show on my tape I saw the name Mark Hamill in the credits. I rewound, and sure enough, it had Mark Hamill as the voice for the Joker. Is this the same guy who played Luke Skywalker, or just some unfortunate soul whose parent's were huge Star Wars fans?
"Mark Hamill" also voices Larry 3000 (Time Squad), Green Goblin (Spiderman: TAS), the thief (tonight's ep of Johnny Bravo, the one where he's a mall security guard), and I THINK the head Barbaroi (Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust), as well as numerous other cartoon characters.

Same guy who plays Luke Skywalker does the voice of the Joker on Batman, and the voice fo the Hobgoblin in the 90's Spider-Man cartoon on Fox.

And don't forget he will be the voice of the Joker in the Birds of Prey show

Yep, Hamill is the Joker. You didn't find that out til now? Shame! :p
Even moreso than Luke Skywalker, the Joker has become Hamill's identity in my eyes.

He also does the voice of Solomon Grundy on Justice League.

Tim Curry all but had the role of Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, but something wasn't right. Not sure what to do, the crew held some more auditions, and Mark Hamill's definitive cackle was discovered. That was close.

Mark Hamill also voiced the villian "Ripburger" from the Lucasarts PC game FullThrottle. Mr. Hamill is definetly one talented voice actor.
"Ripburger! You're dumber than dirt!"

Man, that is cool.
He is one talented mofo. Nice to see that SW actors other than Ford still have jobs.
I'm just can't help but wonder how Curry would have done. He plays an ecellent Nigel Thornberry (only worthwhile character on the show) and crazy evil guy on Freakazoid.

it's funny how people are so surprised that hamill is the voice of Joker. One of my friends never knew it, and he was astounded. Poor Hamill is just to branded with being SkyWalker, though I think most of us agree that he should be known for his Joker work. And he earned it, who else could possible do that insane, freaky laugh that he does so well? It's the Joker trademark! And if BOP ever makes it to WB, I know that the moment Joker cackles in the pilot, it will be a great moment.

You really want to see something weird, check out Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. Hamill plays a villain in that movie who weilds a lightsaber but talks in the Joker's voice. Once you know that Hamill has played Luke and the Joker, nothing is funnier than hearing him say, in full Joker voice, "Don't mess with a Jedi Master, son!" (Okay, he doesn't say "mess," but we have to keep this board clean!)

I agree 100%. Not only is the laugh a riot, but he has the "sick humor" aspect of the Joker down pat. Whoever paired up Hamil & Sorkin to play Joker & Harley should be given a raise!

Hamill is the Joker. Conroy is Batman. Sorkin is Harley Quinn. Nobody else can ever come close to playing them as well in my opinion.
Someone mentioned Tim Curry. He is another one of my favorite voice actors. I believe he has a guest appearance in a Batman: TAS episode or two.
If you're reading this and you haven't already, go to IMDB.com and look at the voice cast and the guest appearances for Batman: TAS. Click on the names to see their other roles if you're not familiar with them. After you're done, you'll agree that it is the most talented cast in the history of televison.
Now, I have to brag a bit. My brother mentioned Jeff Bennett the other day. I promptly replied, he played H.A.R.D.A.C. and the Batcave computer. He looked at IMDB and I was right. Who's the man?
Anyway, be a good Batman: TAS fan and memorize the awesome cast if you haven't already.
I'd also like to say that my favorite guest appearance is William Sanderson.

Dang, I really have to pick that movie up! I never get the chance to.
I found out Mark Hamill was the Joker back in '97. Being a Star Wars fan as well, I thought it was the coolest thing! I seem to think of Mark being Joker more than Luke. I could just have his Joker laugh loop over and over and never get tired of it! :o I am a VERY big Mark Hamill fan! (My friend thinks if I were any more demented that I'd stalk him  - I would want to be his best friend :D ) The best part of going to batmanbeyond.com is getting to hear some of his laugh on the rollovers. ;)
Okay, you're lucky it's my lunch time. I was going to go on and on about Mark. Me and my dang obsessions.......
P.S. I LOVE MARK HAMILL!!! ;)
P.P.S. I'm too shy to ever be a fanatic stalker.
P.P.PS. Hamill in BOP........I'm there!! :D

When I discovered Mark was the voice of the Joker, I wasn't so much surprised as I was interested that such a soft spoken man could play the voice of a madman! Joker has always been my favorite match for Batman, or in this case Hamill and Conroy.
Apparently when he got the role, he studied insistantly, practicing and learning from the original Joker how to cackle. Wow, he sure nailed it! :)

A lot of people seem to have Hamil labeled as Luke Skywalker, but i guess to me he'll always be the Joker. He really made the character. I really can't hear any other voice for him.
There's one place in Star Wars where you can hear Mark sound like the Joker.
In "The Empire Strikes Back", at the end of his fight with Vader, he falls down that big expanse. The scream he makes while falling is pure Joker.
Hamill is definitely the best Joker. He got down not only the laugh, but the way of talking, emphasizing certain words and using his vocal range to comic/insane effect.
Yes, I too was pretty flippin surprised when I found out that Hamill voiced the Joker. He does an AMAZING job. The Joker's voice is one of the reasons I like him so much. I just can't imagine him having any other voice now that I've heard Hamill's Joker voice. It fits him perfectly.
Anyways, As long as we're talking about the amazingly-talented Mark Hamill, ;) do any of you guys know if he voiced the "Crypt Keeper" on that old show "Tales fromt he Crypt"? I heard he voiced that guy somewhere, although I can't remember where I heard it. Anyone know if it's true?

I always said, if he was giving autographs at a sci-fi convention, I'd be the only one in line going "Can you sign my copy of Mad Love?"
--Blackjack thinks Mark is one hell of a talented VA. Blackjack thinks Mark needs more roles. Blackjack doesn't think Mark looks any different in the 3 SW films even though everyone says he does...

I couldn't believe it was him when I found out. I can't imagine how he can do a voice like that. His regular voice is nothing like the one he uses for Joker. I wonder if it hurts his throat.

Look kids!
It's Mark Hamill!!
*Applaud!*
I really wish I knew the guy personally, but he seems like a really great and MODEST guy. Quite willing to poke fun at himself and his characters too. Take, for example, his appearance on Freakazoid. Loved that bit. :)
