Not a fan of CSI, I take it?
I really don't see CBS disposing of it anytime soon....Season 3 has already been issued, and it beat ER for the number 1 drama spot this season.
And it is actually CSI: Miami-Dade, if we're going to get technical.

I just started watching CSI this season and I love it. I also love Law & Order, but the problem is, the spinoffs are pretty sucky. The problem with Law & Order SVU and Criminal Intent is that neither of them show any of the courtroom stuff! The show is called Law & ORDER, but both the spinoffs work solely on the "Law" side.
I doubt CSI can make that same mistake, but the only problem I foresee is that the cast may not be as good as the current cast. I think it's just the chemistry between the current actors (and the writing) that makes the show so popular.
Is the spinoff going to be starting next season?

There is a possibility CSI:Miami-Dade starts a new season. We get a glimpse in May when Warrick and Catherine travel to FLA after a serial killer. If it does create a spin-off, I don't see it doing as well as CSI. David Caruso is the head actor  Has anything he touched after NYPD Blue been good?

the spin-offs of Law & Order takes the familiar title and tries to sell them to the same audience who watches and Law and Order. they are just trying to cash in on thought idea, so the spinoffs not having the "Order" part in their shows doesn't mean anything.

Yeah, I didn't mean that the spinoffs use a different premise, just that the direction they've taken is the reason the original is so much better than either of them.
I just hope CSI's spinoff can maintain the same kind of premise and keep the show quality high (which is actually pretty rare when it comes to spinoffs).
