i dont know if this has been asked before but do you like the new hawk girl over the old hawk man? :)
i think she is cool, and you know i would rather fight superman then her because he would be merciful and she would not stop kicking my butt. :(

I like how they've made this Hawkgirl -- it actually makes her seem more hawklike in how she fights. I got a kick out of her in "Secret Origins" when I first saw it, though, with all the grunting and stuff. I think I've gotten used to it, though.

Can't argue with that!

I suppose my answer is obvious. I liked how SH was restrained, calm, and collected in "Fury," pt. 1. She had a job to do on Themyscira, and she didn't waver from that mindset. Of course, I'm thinking all bets are off in pt. 2--it'll be serious tail whippin' time then. ;)

That is just great on reinforcing her detective background! :)

I prefer Hawkman. But since they did pick Hawkgirl, why couldn't they make it Hawkwoman or something? Isn't "Girl" a little...uh...I can't think of the word.

Ricochet,

Agreed. I loved the brief scene with Hawkgirl and Batman--very nice!

Nyssane,

I prefer 'girl' myself, both in reference to SH and in reference to "Batgirl." Just personal preference for me. :)

I like Hawkgirl -- Hawkwoman always sounded like a ploy to be PC, imo. I'm with Spider in that it reminds me of Batgirl. :)

BleuUnicorns,

I wonder how old she is? Someone pointed out something that really surprised me about HG (it was in another thread, I think). S/he said that HG was the veteran of the squad--I couldn't figure that one out. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with that, it's just that I don't know how that conclusion was reached. Any ideas?

Don't know how old she is -- but being a veteran, hmm, I guess that can be justified in a few ways. 1. I want to assume she's already met, worked with, and married Hawkman, since she's already got his last name. And 2. she was a detective on her home planet, so obviously that's given her experience in the world of crime. But as for how old -- not sure. I'd love this to be fleshed out -- she really needs an ep focused on her, imo.

BleuUnicorns,

Okay, I see--veteran as in a crime detective. That makes sense to me. Batman and Hawkgirl--yeah! :)

I believe there will be an episode on her in the future. I've posted elsewhere what I'd like to see should that occur, so I won't repeat it here. But I'm heading off to Thanagar in a couple of hours--I'll let you know how things are going there with the war....

Will be cool to finally see her, whenever that episode airs, that is. Send me a postcard when you get to Thanagar, hmm?

you think there will be a hawkman? i mean maybe thats why they had a hawkgirl first. then the big thing would be is she would run into hawkman and then they fall love. blah blah blah lol. that would be kinda cool. :D

BleuUnicorns,

I've posted a pic of the postcard I send everyone when I'm vacationing (such as it is ;)) on Thanagar. It looks just like my avatar, strangely enough.... :)

The strange complexities of life -- postcards that match avatars -- the world just never ceases to amaze me! :D

I see your point about how Hawkgirl should be named Hawkwoman, because she looks A bit older than Batgirl. But I'm happy with her anyways. Do you think we'll see Hawkman make an appearance in the series? That would be nice. We might learn A little more about Thangar.
