PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! VOTE WATCHMEN!

The best graphic novel ever written.

An entire TEAM of superheroes.

JOHN DELANEY'S PERSONAL FAVORITE THIS WEEK.

COME ON PEOPLE! HE'S GIVEN US OUR FAVES! LET HIM HAVE HIS!

IF SYLVESTER AND TWEETY WIN...

Well...have you all ever seen the ending of JAY AND SILENT BOB STRIKE BACK?

I'm begging here. All of you who don't know what WATCHMEN is...

STAND DOWN.

Or go HERE and read the scripts...the character things...

http://www.angelfire.com/oh5/daveworld1/WATCHMEN.html

If for some reason WATCHMEN doesn't win, I think we need to see it on the ballot until it does.

End rant.

I've heard of them but never saw a pic of the team. Could someone post a picture of the team. They sound really cool from what I've heard.

Yeah, I would be willing to see them on the ballot until they win, but I am in love with Star Sapphire this round, and I cannot shut off my feelings for her. :p

Ugh. I've never even heard of Star Sapphire before this. I can't believe anyone would actually vote for anything other than the Watchmen in this poll. Kids these days.

Because they've never heard of them. Which is why I said:

"Stand down"

AND provided a link that should make anyone fall in love with them.

With my avatar, how could I not? When it comes to Moore, it's all good.

Gah! A friggin video-game hedgehog is beating out one of the greatest groups of characters ever seen in comics literature. This truely is the end of the world as we know it.

It's sad. Just sad. Tweety and Sonic are beating our chance to see a Timm-ish WATCHMEN into the ground. I guess it's because this is a toon board, and most of them have never heard of it before. Because if they had, they would vote for it. Which is why I sent that link, but I guess no one went to see what Watchmen was all about. Woohoo. Yet another Sylvester and Tweety drawing. I'm sure John is just jumping at the chance to do that when he could have been doing Night Owl, Rorschach, Ozymandias, The Comedian, Captain Metropolis, the Silk Spectre (All of you who voted for Star Sapphire over her should be ashamed), and Dr. Manhattan. Oh well. Maybe if it stays on the ballot, AFTER anime and Looney Tunes things get done, we'll get to see it.

If we did...

It would a kinder, more loving world to die in.

Hey, I love Watchmen as much as the next guy, but Timm's redesign of Star Sapphire is beyond cool. Plus, I can add it to my Star Sapphire page, :p.

Maybe most of 'em are under 18 and take the "Suggested for Mature Readers" warning seriously? Or maybe they're over 18 and take the warning seriously. The situation is kinda funny on a grand social scale. Or maybe not.

I'll have to think about it. The clock is ticking.

Perhaps they don't want to violate the Keene Act of 1977!

Hurm...

I'm 15, bought WATCHMEN when I was 14, and continue to laugh at "Suggested for Mature Readers." Great thing about a small comic shop is they'll sell ya anything.

Well...maybe John will draw Sylvester and Tweety to look like Rorschach and Night Owl.

It would a kinder, more loving world to die in. Some of you act like your opinion is the only rational conclusion. I can appreciate your devotion to the Watchmen, but you're not giving anyone else the same courtesy. Do you think you can reassess your grasp on the concept of voting for one's FAVORITE character on the poll, not just yours? Maybe on some level, it would be better to see the Watchmen sketched because there is very little Watchmen artwork in existence, or on another level, it would be better to see the Penguin because one of our Toon Zone members REALLY wants to see him, but not ONE of these characters is any more deserving of a sketch than the rest. Every case takes a backseat to each voter's individual preference, and it's immature to not respect that.

In fact, attitudes like yours are starting to bug me. The poll thread is full of comments that provide unfounded reasons why I should vote for a certain character. I'm not going to vote for your guy because of the adjectives you used to describe the other choices, I'm not going to vote for your guy just because you wanted to see him last week, I'm not going to vote for your guy because you think video game characters are lamer than comic book characters. Once again, the last thing I'm trying to do is undermine anyone's opinion, but you have to understand that that's all it is. An opinion. When you include the claim in the evidence, nothing is proven, so don't expect your own personal outlook to be proof enough for anyone but yourself.

As for John "jumping at the chance" to draw Tweety and Sylvester over the Watchmen, you can bet your ass he is. Last week he said that he'd love to draw a Looney Tunes character, and if he had his pick, he'd go with Mugsy or Tweety after drinking the Hyde formula. I thought that was an excellent choice, and that's why I sent Harley the suggestion for Hyde Tweety.

AND I'D DO IT AGAIN. :D

Hey, I wanted to see the Watchmen win as well, but chances are we will see them return in a future poll. And in all fairness, it's not just another drawing of Sylvester and Tweety, but the Jekel and Hyde versions of them from one cartoon. I've seen many drawings of Sylvester and Tweety, but not too many of them like that, and I am sure John will be excited to draw either one. So let's just relax and get ready to see a great new drawing from John and congrat the winner and hope for our chance again real soon!
