Never Really Liked Samurai Jack's Opening Theme....

Samurai Jack's such a brilliantly classic cartoon, with utterly great BGM and.... I can't say enough.

To me it is absolutely THE perfect cartoon for all ages.

But I find the opening theme insulting to the rest of the narrative. I've no problem with using hip-hop or rock in an opening theme.

But something about SJ's is just overly simplified and trite.

Bleh, I'm having trouble finding words to describe what I'm talking about. Does anyone else have a problem with SJ's opening theme?

Wish they'd called the guys from William Street(Tooami) to mix something up for them.

hEH.. I don't hate it. I mean it's okay but they should of done a thing where the play Japanese Music using a flute and show lotus blossums blowing in the wind and slowly lead into clips of Jacks various adventures all the while the music goes from traditional Japanese to a Heavy rock groove as Jack comes to the pic of aku that engulfs the screen and starts the show.

I LOVE the opening theme! Sure an instrumental piece of some sort would be nice, but I think the current one works. It's so catchy, it rocks.

Feel like it would pay more proper respect to the sprawling legend of Samurai Jack.

I love SJ's opening theme.

The opening narration is excellent; right up there with "The A-Team".

Personally, opening themes don't mean that much to me. But when I think about it, the opening themes to SJ and JL are pretty representative of the shows. They're not bad, they're just kind of...boring.

I think the theme fits the show rather well. If it was just another "cookie cutter" theme (like some of the OVAs), I think I'd be disappointed.

Who wants all themes to be the same? I don't.

How is this theme that's closer to what you'd expect to hear from "Fox Presents: Shaft!" perfect for the tale of a wondering Samurai?

I think the title fits the show perfectly. Here we have a guy from those lotus blossum, Kabuki music days, who's been THROWN into a very very modern and advanced world. I love that as much as I love the show. Boy the last ep was excellent.

And although I like the current instrumental theme, I agree a change could be very helpfull. I think it's cool. It's not excellent, like Batman Beyon'd calibar, but it's still good to me.

MSX should've worked on Samurai Jack. His idea would be the ideal Samurai Jack opening theme. Instead of that crap that says, "Gotta get back. Back to the past" in some stupid jive. :p

You guys heard the new commercial song? That should be the opening theme song. It's not that I don't like the current one, I just like that song better. The current song, however, does fit the theme of the show.
