As we all now, the sound effect is one of the most crucial parts to a cartoon besides the cartoon itself. I wanna know what everyone's favorite sound effects are. You can describe it or try spelling it out. I like it when people spell it out. It's more amusing that way.
IMO, Hanna-Barbera uses some of the most amusing sound effects in cartoons: the flapity-flap of someone running, the sound of someone preparing to run, the sound when someone hits the ground, and the sound made when someone does a double-take. Those are my favorites from H-B.
From WB, I like the "BEEEEEEOOOOWOOOOP" sound, the sound made when someone gets hit by something really, really hard...I'm forgetting some. Oh, well.

I liked that BEEEEEYOOOOOP iris out sound effect, too. Especially at the end of BOOK REVUE.
Speaking of which, it seems that Robert McKimson tried his own version of hte BEEEEYOOOOOP. At the end of BIRTH OF A NOTION, there's a "yuk-yuk" sound effect, but nobody on-screen is making the sound. I'm guessing this was an experiment for an iris/fade-out sound of McKimson's that never took off. Anybody know for sure?

I think the "yuk-yuk" was the dog, only that it got cut off by that darn "dubbed version" reissue! On another note, I have two favorite sounds. One is the crash sound used when Papa Bear crashes through the roof in "Bee-Deviled Bruin". The other is the "JA-BWANG!" sound, like when Porky crushed himself in the dumbwaiter in "Prize Pest".

I also like the "punching a side of beef with a slight OOFFF" sound effect like when the Coyote collapses and hits the ground (I also heard that on several other shows and movies).
Plus, a great one is that "zzzzzZZZZZAAPPPPTT" that gets used in some Tom and Jerry cartoons, and I think its the same sound that Spiderman uses to cast a web.
I also like the "KA-Chaw!!" that used to get used whenever a H-B character ran away from something really fast..... I think it's also used somewhere in "Cueball Cat" when Tom shoots a cue stick at Jerry off the marker abacus.
That "Bugs' tickling Beaky's adam's apple" was done with a slide trombone wasn't it? I think I remember reading that on one of the Clampett interview transcriptions once. The best "BEEEE-YOOPS" I like are at the end of "Birdy And The Beast", and "Tin Pan Alley Cats".
