Everybody Read This! Important Message!

I'm very disappointed in you guys. You all claim to be fans of classic cartoons. But whenever an opportunity comes to support those cartoons, you always let them down. It's bad enough that Speedy Gonzales was banned. Did he have to suffer the indignity of losing to Darkwing Duck in the John Delaney poll as well? Of course not. The only reason that he lost, the only reason Daffy Duck lost, and the only reason Wile E. Coyote lost was because you guys just didn't care! There's no reason why a Looney Tunes character can't get 100 votes in the John Delaney poll. The TTTP is the 2nd largest board on all of Toon Zone, it is read by hundreds of people each day, but only 20 or 30 of you care enough to take the 10 measely seconds it takes to vote on a poll?? We're the laughing stock of TZ because we're unable to mobilize even a fraction of our board members to vote for our characters. John Delaney had to add Daffy Duck in his latest sketch as a consolation, because it was obvious to him that a Looney Tunes character would never really win. Why does it have to be this way?

Tweety & Sylvester are in this week's poll. The drawing is specifically supposed to be from "Hyde & Go Tweet". Imagine a drawing of the Mr. Hyde Tweety standing over a cowering Sylvester? Isn't it glorious? Well, it will never be drawn, because you guys just can't be bothered to vote. I have absolutely no faith that they will win. Only you can prove me wrong. Yes, you there! I think that they stand a good chance this week. The votes for the other choices are very scattered, so there's not ONE other candidate in competition with him, but a few which all get some votes but still do worse than Tweety & Sylvester. If we get enough people from here to participate, I think that we have a good chance.

I didn't vote the classic cartoon character this time around, but I did tell Jerry Beck about the poll last week. He didn't know what the poll was about until I showed him the Delaney gallary. He was so impressed with the work, he went and voted for Speedy!

Excuse me, Brian, but I don't vote for any polls for a good reason-for some reason, 90% of the time, when I try, I get a screen that reads, in effect, "Sorry, but it didn't work. try again". In other words, it's not counting my vote. Maybe the fact that I use Webtv (pardon me, MSNtv) is why. But I get a default screen when I try t vote, so I don't bother.

Two words, Brian: CALM DOWN. Maybe some people, such as myself, were not even aware there WAS a poll going on. I'm having a tough time in my personal life right now, and the last thing I need is you berating ALL of us- especially me, but yes, ALL of us- for not voting. Is it the end of the world? Not by a long shot. It's just a damn poll. There are more important things to worry about. Talk to the people who DESERVE to be yelled at for not voting, but don't just scoop every single person, regardless of any context or reason why they didn't vote, into one big lump and belittle ALL of us. By saying EVERYONE should read your post, not only do you make some of us feel bad, but "EVERYONE" includes the people who DID vote, and THEY definitely don't deserve your criticism. Maybe it induced some of us to vote, but on the whole it was a foolish thing to do and an unfair way to go about doing it, and I'm pretty sure most of us didn't deserve such harsh criticism.

This post was made before reading the recent argument, and has nothing to do with it.

The Watchmen might be doing so well only because John voted for it, encouraging others who couldn't make up their mind. Tweety/Sylvester is still ahead by 13. It has a chance! Sonic the Hedgehog is close behind The Watchmen. Another possible reason for other LT characters doing so bad is this: There are many World's Finest boards, and only one active discussion board for The Unofficial Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies Page. That is a serious disadvantage, to say the least. Some people who rarely post to the TTTP might still vote for Sylvester and Tweety, which is why they have a chance.
