I was just thinking about a year ago...you remember, when rumours were flying around that we'd finally get a Justice League series? When that first promotional image by Timm appeared? When we were all hoping that Batman Beyond wouldn't be the end?

We certainly have come a long way!

LOL...Ok I guess I'll have to broaden the topic here if I hope to get any new posts! Did you have high hopes when the first new reports came in or did it seem like nothing more than a rumour? Was everyone here always keen on a Justice League series? I know I had mixed feelings, but was generally interested!

I was kinda disappointed that Batman Beyond was ending. They could have done alot more with Batman Beyond. We never did see what happened to Nightwing. I was excited about Justice League but I didn't really know what to expect because I didn't know much about most of the characters.

I have to say that I'm not the least bit disappointed. Most of the Justice League episodes have been better than the Batman Beyond ones. The only Batman Beyond episode I think beats some of Justice League is "The Call", but that took Batman Beyond 3 seasons to reach, and it was a one time shot, so I am not at all disappointed.

I didn't like Batman Beyond, I'm a big Batman fan and it just wasn't Batman, it wasn't even Nightwing which I could handle it was a shameless ripoff to throw kids a Batman for their so-called generation, which actually is my own generation.

I was hoping for a Justice League ever since I saw a lot of reports of Paul Dini and Timm talking about it in a Wizard interview two years beforehand. This was around the time that SUperman was in its second to last season. The wizard showed all kinda characters done from the Timm style DCU comic book from Green Arrow, Black Canary, Black Lightning, Dr. Fate, Hourman, The Question and many others. It was wicked cool! I knew that Warner Bros. just could not possibly pass it up, but I expected it to be on WB primetime. That is still an option if they edit the episodes to one hour format.

Just like all the rumours that fly around: Batman year one movie, BOP series, etc., I get very intrigued. I was interested in them bringing JL, and was hoping that it would become a reality. At the same time, it was a shame to see BB leave, but I felt it an even bigger shame for TNBA to end, so I wasn't all that sad to see BB go. I was rather hoping that it's demise would mean TNBA starting up again. But having an animated JL come in it's place works out well, because we still get Batman, plus a handful of other amazing, and much loved, characters.

Hypothetical situation here:

If, after the second season of JL, Dini and Timm and WB have patched up their differences and want to start on those DTV's and make another round of TNBA...but it would, of course, mean putting Justice League on haitus for a year, what would you prefer?

Honestly, this is a tough question for me. The main reason I am eager to see Justice League mature as a show is so that Wonder Woman can finally get her fair share of limelight. She's been consistantly over-shadowed by the "World's Finest" despite having one of the most rich and unique histories.

However , I really miss B:TAS and since TNBA just didn't come off as well as I'd hoped it would...I really want to see it again...better than before. Those DTV's sound great, and a handful of episodes dealing with Rupert Thorne, Tim v.s. Two-Face, the Batgirl/Dick/Bruce love triangle, Riddler, Catwoman and Ra's would really rock.

I guess for me I just don't have as much of a love for the entire DC Universe as I do for Gotham City. I'd like to see the show wrap up (a little) cause frankly I miss the G.G. (Gotham Gals - Ivy, Talia, Calendar Girl, Harley, Catwoman...etc) and Alfred. Oh, how I miss Alfred! He was great!

What do you think you would prefer?

The stance I've held for the last five years or more would probably satisfy both those options, as far as making JL or making more TNBSA.

BTAS got me completely hooked, so that's where my loyalty was and still is, and eventually the same went for Superman. When I had both of them on the WB, and after I got used to the comic continuity that was added and the redesigns, I was in Batman/Superman heaven, and I didn't want a single change.

Then Batman Beyond came along, and although I loved it (despite it's occasional mistakes) I was still totally devoted to Batman/Superman and wanted more. So I'd go with more TNBSA episodes. JL characters could have been introduced throughout the series, as long as they were done well. :)

I remember it was in the DC Comics Online Newsletter that was the first place I heard about it...I was so excited about it!
