Do you think that X-Men Evolution should have a 5th season? I did like how Professor X had a vision of all the X-Men members coming together and that is a good ending for the show, but I like to see them show how Colossus and Gambit joined the team. I can imagine Colossus probably joining the team if the X-Men were able to rescue his family and Gambit might join because of Rogue, but it was never shown in the final episode, so maybe a 5th season might help wrap up some loose ends of this show.
I just hope that if a 5th season was ever thought of, they don't try to fast forward the characters several years into the future because this show is about the X-Men characters as teenagers and it would have been odd if all of a sudden, the next season has the characters as adults. There is already several animated X-Men series that has the characters as adults, so it would be better if they just kept the characters as teenagers in this series.

I'd have loved if they'd have gotten ten more seasons, but I'm happy where it ended. It wrapped up a storyline that had been going on since season 2 and gave the X-Men a "big damn hero" moment. It's a shame the show got killed by the 52 episodes rule and only got nine episodes in season 4.

I think the producers had said that if there was another season they wouldn't have done a time skip, it was just done to show the future of the characters. Jean and Scott had graduated from High School, and then Colossus and Gambit joined the team, so it would've been a mix between teens and young adults. Which fits the themes of the series.
Though for the life of me I don't understand why Gambit would join the team. Or why'd they'd let him considering he'd kidnapped Rogue previously. I'm not a Rogue/Gambit shipper, though, so I never bought into the fan implications from that episode.

Been working through the series. Emo teen angst, so far (Season One).

No i don't think their should have been a 5th season... i think there should have been a sequel series
A 5th season would have been more of the same and i'm not so sure how much we could get out of another 13 episodes... and personally i was getting bit tired of their high school days. Fast forwarding would also be rather wasted as there's not much that can be done in 13 episodes and that's when many big stories are supposed to occur
That's why i think i would have liked a sequel series to X-men evolution. Fast forward a few years, and show us the mature years of the x-men... there are many x-men stories that evolution never got to touch upon and whole new series would have been able to do just that.

Then on your assessment I'll keep going.

I'm not sure how a 5th season would have worked out. Scott and Jean graduated in season 4 and if Evolution can be said to have main characters, it was them. I wouldn't have been particularly interested in the further high school antics of Kurt, Kitty, and the new mutants. If it was the adventures of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, and Storm then they may as well have remade the 90s series.
Though for the life of me I don't understand why Gambit would join the team. Or why'd they'd let him considering he'd kidnapped Rogue previously. I'm not a Rogue/Gambit shipper, though, so I never bought into the fan implications from that episode. They let Lance in and he did pretty much the same thing to Kitty. Evo Charles seems to be very big on second (and third and fourth) chances.

The high school showed up a lot less in season 4 and I don't think we got to see them inside it (save for a teleporting gag). So if season 5 got made the high school might've gotten even more diminished, save for mentioning that the new mutants still go there.

I don't think "tricking Kitty to let him get test scores" is the same as "kidnapping Rogue, repeatedly lying to her, and threatening to blow up a train." ;)
Though yeah you're right they would've probably let him join if he asked (don't know why he'd ask, though) given they let Lance in. Given how hard they were on Lance they'd probably give Gambit and even tougher time.

I think it's too late to ever see a season 5 of X-Men: Evolution, much as I would have liked to have seen what they had in store next.

I highly enjoyed season 1, it's what got me into the series, and that was before deciding to take a long break from this franchise
It's good that the show ended with season 4 and a story since season 2

I was a little confused about why Gambit would join the X-Men also. I can understand why Colossus would join the X-Men because he would want to be strong enough to protect his family, but Gambit was a mystery to me. I guess he would join the X-Men because of Rogue, I'm guessing.

I agree that if they did have it set up where the characters are older, there should be a spin off series on X-Men Evolution because it wouldn't make sense to add on their adult years to the show that was about the X-Men characters as teens.
