i wish theyd clear this up for good on the show, cause im confussed.
who has a human alter ego on JL and who doesnt? and which members CARE if people know theyre secret identities??
so far we know:
superman
batman
green lanter
have human alter egos. BUT in "in darkest night" it seems John stewart didnt care that he transformed into GL right in front of everyone.
does flash have an alter ego in JL? does MM have on in the comics?? what about in JL? what about hawkgirl? and judging from Fury, it seems WW doesnt have a human alter ego, since she went shopping in her WW costume.
also, who in the JL knows eachothers identities. Im guessing only superman knows batman's, but what about the rest of them? can anyone clear all this up or do any of you know what timm has said on the subject? thanks, peace.

I agree, in that I don't think Jon really cares who knows or not.
Flash is Wally West, and I don't think he's stated his secret ID to the world here.
J'onn has, in the comics, many, many, many alter egos. He even has one as someone's cat. He's a shapechanger, after all.
So little has been told in this series about Hawkgirl that I have absolutely no idea one way or another.
Only Supes' knows Batman's ID, and vice versa.
Wonder Woman has no alter ego, which is why you'll hear her called Diana or Wonder Woman, whichever is the characters feel like calling her at the time.
What bothers me is the screengrab of Flash with the virus from next week's episode. His shirt is off, but his mask isn't? I mean, the same goes for Batman, but if somebody did take his mask off, once he got better he'd be liable to kick the crap out of them the minute he got better.

I didn't think batman would get infected because of his identity, but the commercial proved me wrong. Same with the Flash. GL doesn't care about his, and only bats and supes know each other, to my knowledge.

I've been wondering this for the longest damn time.
Wonder Woman, J'onn J'onnzz, and Hawkgirl are exempt from wonder as they all don't really have alter egos.
The rest however...
Jon Stewart, if I remember correctly what the guy at the anime store told me, Jon doesn't like masks. He thinks they're cowardly, so he doesn't care who knows he is Green Lantern or not.
Bruce, his whole story I have no problem with as he never stays on the big thingy in outer space. So noone needs to know nothing, Superman knows, that's all that matters.
Clark on the other hand, he obviously doesn't live on the space thingy, but what happens when he spends several days there or whatever? During the whole series, we've never seen what goes on in Metropolis. Doesn't Lois wonder where he's been at? Also, Bruce isn't the only one that knows, you forget J'onn telepathically reached out to him as CLARK in the first ep.
Flash, I have no idea who he is. So screw it.

I know this is kind of off-topic, but in the JLA comic, when Kyle is Green Lantern, he wears a mask, but in JLA #61, he transforms right in the coffee shop.

Hm, that's interesting about Kyle. Eh, I guess it's all about what the writers were thinking about at the time. Anyway, as far as animated JL goes, I think it's a question of continuity and live and let live. Say with Batman for example, he has his complicated Bruce Wayne life still (why we even made a whole series dedicated to it!) but it can't be touched on in JL, since we have so many other characters to focus on at the same time. So it's like, we recognize it's there, but don't directly aknowledge it. In other words, I'm sure not every single character decided to drop their regular personal lives simply because they joined a superhero group now.
Personal "me" time might be an issue since then, but that's another matter. ;)
But as far as who knows who's mask, I think right now the numbers are slim to none, except for Bruce and Clark, the two who are already buddies from previous experiences. And finding who knows who and who cares about their personal identity I'm sure we'll find out in time after seeing more of how they handle their character.

I agree with what's been said about J'onn J'onz - he probably knows, as would Supes and Batman. Diana is pretty much non-applicable to the secret I.D. thing - of all the characters, I'd like to see what Wally does during the day-time the most.

Didn't Batman mention in the first episode that the Watchtower was built by money hidden in Wayne tech's R&D budget. That leads me to believe that they all know he is Bruce Wayne. Besides whats the point in hiding from each other? I for one hop to see them in their alter egos. For once, let them call Batman at the office, or when he's out being Bruce Wayne. Wally probably always wears the Flash outfit because it's so built-in to his ego. I wouldn't mind seeing Clark Kent either. Hawk Girl probably doesn'y have an alter-ego because her wings are real in this, so it's probably hard to hide them.
