..are being closed down and revamped as AOL Time Warner stores? I heard this from a co-worker whose 2nd job is there..not
only that but they've destroyed all the sculptures from the 57th street store and will destroy the one of Bugs and Lola kissing
(a la the post WWII picture) they're not even trying to sell it!

Nope. Your co-worker is misinformed or just doesn't know. There are no plans to keep the domestic stores going in any form.

My WB store had very nice Bugs & Daffy statues, with them in tuxedos, and wearing a hat and holding a cane. However those were destroyed, or tooken away. They also got rid of a WONDERFUL setting of the LT characters at the Niagara Falls. Bugs, Daffy, and Taz, were in barrels going down the falls, while Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, the Road Runner, and Wile E. Coyote were in raincoats, watching from The Maid of the Mist. Sad, isn't it?
