Popeye

Ever since Jerry Beck created a page on his website about opening titles, I started having a dire need to see many a classic cartoon with its opening titles intact.
Opening titles on a cartoon can get you all excited to see what comic adventures will ensue. As Jerry had said, TV distributor prints seem to ruin the impact the originals had. Many of the cartoons I ran at my festival had TV logos on them!
I am quite partial to Disney's "Sunbeam" graphic. This was also used in the Terrytoons cartoons, as well as several Andy Panda shorts.
Also, I love the "spinning star" and "porthole" openings of the Popeye cartoons; as well as the "Guess who?" openings of the Woody Woodpecker films.
I am not including the W-B shield opening graphic because that's a given; everybody here loves that graphic!
