Last season, Frostbite200 won the title of ToonZone Survivor! Now, Survivor's back for an all new season of challenges and backstabbing, this time with a new host and a new twist!
OVERVIEW:
For those of us who don't watch the show Survivor, such as myself, we begin with a group of people trapped on an island, or in this case, trapped on the Internet. Each round, players cast anonymous ballots to vote one player to be voted off/deleted. The last one remaining is declared the winner, and is able to escape the Internet and resume his/her life.
THE GAMES:
Each round, another game will be played. This game will be chosen and run by the host, and players will compete for immunity. By immunity, I mean that the team that wins each game will be saved from being up for deletion, and the losing team must vote someone off.
IMMUNITY IDOL:
Behold the almighty power of the Immunity Idols! These will be hidden throughout the forum by the host, and he who finds the Immunity Idol may hold onto it to use whenever they wish. Clues will be dispersed in time, and by following the clues to the right page of the forum, you will find the Idol, each one colored to a specific theme. When you find the Idol, a code will be hidden with it - PM this to the host in order to claim it. But beware - Demonic Idols will be hidden throughout the forum as well, and bad things will happen if you discover one of these.
You may hold onto the Idol, give it to another player, or use it. Each Idol may only be activated once, and this must be done BEFORE voting begins. Activating it will grant you immunity, but unlike the immunity received from the games, this will not be announced and will protect you in the event that you are voted off. NOTE: Immunity Idols become powerless in the semifinal round (when three players remain).
VOTING:
After the games are completed each round, voting will begin. At the time chosen by the host, players on the losing team will begin to PM their votes to the host. When all votes are cast, the tally will be announced, as well as any Immunity Idols which may have been activated. The player with the most votes will be deleted from the forum, forever doomed to act as an internet virus. However, it would be wise to remain on good terms with these viruses - you have been warned.
In the event of a tie, there will be a mini-game, played between those with the most votes. The loser of this game will be deleted.
COINS:
This is the twist I was speaking of. After each challenge a team wins, they will receive a random number of coins. Then at elimination, if you recieve no votes for yourself, you'll recieve the coins, yet slightly lessened in total. Once you have 20 coins in your possession, I will PM you and inform you may buy immunity with your coins. However, once you buy immunity, you will no longer have your 20 coins and will be back down to zero or whatever your remainder of coins shall be. You must keep this in mind, for the final four challenge will be poker with your coins.
THE FINAL ROUND:
When only two players remain, the competition will change quite a bit. There will be no games, and the remaining players will not vote themselves. Instead, the viruses - the ghosts of the players who have previously been voted off - will vote for whichever of those remaining should proceed to emerge from the Internet alive.
SIGN UP:
I'll be the host for this competition. I hope to get at least 16 players, but there's no cap. The game will start, at the earliest, on May 16, but we can start later for more contestants. Just post here to sign up and good luck! You're going to need it...

There seems to be a anti-Sudoku movement. I personally don't care, but that would make an interesting tribal division: Sudoku vs. Sudon'tku.

TIME TO BEGIN!
Fifteen ToonZone regulars have been attacked by a terrible spell! Jmill, Cradleman, JasonFox, Superpan, The Cartoon, SpideyFan914, Riankg, OnePark, The Huntsman, Spideyzilla, T&EKING, NovelleX, Harlequinn, GatorMan92, and Frostbite200 have been trapped inside the Internet... again! Escape can happen but only one ever will be able to return to the social lives they claim to have left behind!
WHO WIN THE HONOR???
In Challenge One, the fifteen players will each vote one of the others to be deleted from the forum, and will be doomed to forever roam the Internet. As I'm certain you all know, the Internet is a dangerous place, but two lucky members will be able to gain immunity from these treacheries, and also have the choice to pick their own teams. To win immunity become team captains this round - HERE ARE THE RULES:
It's the return of the movie quote challenge! I will post a series of movie quotes. Within the following 24 hours, each player must choose only one of those quotes and name what movie it's from. BUT you can't choose the same quote as another player. At the following day's update time, which will be at least 24 hours after the previous, anyone who has not correctly matched a movie will lose the game and their chance at immunity and team captainship! However, if no remaining players are able to solve any of the quotes, it will be opened to other players at midnight, giving you one last chance to win immunity and team captainship!
So....
Let's get down to business!
Day One
1. “I used to think you were a swell guy. Well, to be honest, I thought you were an imbecile. But then I figured out you WERE a swell guy... A little slow, maybe, but a swell guy. Well, maybe you're not so slow, But you're not so swell either. And it looks like you're an imbecile after all!”
2. “We really should stop fighting, we'll miss the fireworks!”
3. “I don't know who you are or where you came from, but from now on you'll do as I tell you, okay”
4. “What is it with this family and singing? I'm starting to feel a little VonTrapped.”
5. “What rubbish! See? That's what happens when you read all of those fanciful novels on fairy tales of yours.”
6. “The party lasted an entire week, and honestly, I don't remember most of it.”
7. “I thought maybe we could make ginger bread houses, and eat cookie dough, and go ice skating, and maybe even hold hands.”
8. “You Americans, you're all the same. Always overdressing for the wrong occasions.”
9. “If he came to me I would help him, but he wouldn't come to me. It's not his style.”
10. “If we were equals, I wouldn't be here. I'd be at home with my wife, and no one would give a damn.”
11. “I think the metaphor broke my spleen.”
12. “Blast. This is why I hate flying.”
13. “Here's to the pencil pushers. May they all get lead poisoning.”
14. “We're dead! We're dead! We survived but we're dead!”
15. "Well, if my cathedral of cutting-edge taste holds no interest for your tragically Canadian sensibilities, then I shall be forced to grant you a swift exit from the premises... and a fast entrance into hell!"
All of you pick a quote, and name the movie. Post your response in the thread, and if you repeat a quote, automatic disqualification. I will see you all tomorrow. Good luck. You're gonna need it...

Is there any chance this game will have some flash game challenges or something that I might actually be good at? SpideyFan said he didn't want to do that because people could cheat, but people could cheat more easily on this movie quote challenge. It would take five seconds to identify one of these quotes using Google.

How could a flash game be a challenge, though? In the example SpideyFan posted back when he started the last game, a link to a game was posted and people had three tries to get as high of a score they could get. SpideyFan opted not to use such challenges because he felt that people would cheat, but as I've said, people could just as easily cheat with these movie quote challenges.

Now... I certainly can't let you guys have lame names like that, can I? Team 1 and Team 2? BAH! Your next challenge is coming up with team names! The names will be judged on three qualities:
Creativeness - How creative a name is.
Awesomeness - How threatening or just plain cool a name is.
The number of names a team posts - The number of names a team posts.:p
A contestant can post as many names as they like, to make up for possible unparticipating members! Two anonymous judges from another forum I frequent will be judging alongside myself. Each of the judges will be picking a most creative and a most awesome name to give points to a team, and each name picked gets one point for their team. The team that wins the last category gets two bonus points added to their score. The team with the most points win! Also, the board of judges will pick one name to be your team name. The challenge is due Friday at noon CST.

Results are in!
Team 1 - 31
Team 2 - 50
So Team 2 easily gets the two point bonus!
Now, let's see who gets the MOST CREATIVE points!
Impartial Anonymous Male Judge - K-Paxians (cradleman, Team 2)
Impartial Anonymous Female Judge - Sac and Fox (Frostbite200, Team 2)
Blankments - We Like to Dance. (OnePark, Team 1)
Next up is the MOST AWESOME points!
Impartial Anonymous Male Judge - Team Tangelo (The Huntsman, Team 1)
Impartial Anonymous Female Judge - The Coalition (The Huntsman, Team 1)
Blankments - The Gauntlet of Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee's Grandson (Superpan, Team 1)
So the final score is...
WAIT!
I'm announcing the team names first, to add some suspense!
Team 1 henceforth shall be referred to as... TEAM TANGELO!!!!
Team 2 henceforth shall be referred to as... THE MIGHTY CRUSTACEANS!!!
Now...
The final score is...
Team Tangelo - 4
The Mighty Crustaceans - 4
IT'S A TIE!
Now, normally I'd add on another challenge... But I'm just going to pick my favorite name overall to decide the challenge.
The name (and winner of the challenge) is...
TEAM TANGELO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I picked up because before I got the reference, I thought it was utterly absurd and I liked the catchiness of it. Then, I got the reference, and liked it even more! Also, and this wasn't really a factor in my decision, it just needs to be brought up, I'm aware the other team has a dead member on it. So, I'll give you guys a little advice; If the dead member is still on your team for the next challenge, it's going to be near impossible to win that challenge. A fair warning.
Frostbite200 and cradleman both have immunity for gaining their team points and the final name. However, no votes will be counted until midnight CST. The Mighty Crustaceans may send in their votes then, and I will also post in the thread when I wake up to remind you guys to vote.
Congrats to Team Tangelo!!!

Just people on your team. People on other teams will never vote someone off your team unless I add a twist. Of course, at the merge, they'd be able to vote you off, but that's awhile off.

Now, what is the point of these assignments? Well, you guys are writing "Who Am I?" poems for this challenge! In case you don't know what this is, it's basically vague hints on what your subject is, but it can't be too obvious. It also MUST be five sentences long, no more, no less. They will be posted in the thread for entry. Here's a rather bad example.
I soar through the air and climb walls without fear. My aunt and my girlfriend are all that I have, for my best friend has sided with his dad. You probably know my old theme song from the '60s; it's up there with the best. Sensing danger with an odd tingle, I couldn't save my uncle. A few of his last words were, "With great power, comes great responsibility." Who am I?
Obviously that's Spider-Man. Anyway, I'm sure you're wondering how these will be judged. Well, on another forum I'm a member of, I've got five judges. Once all the entries are received, I'll compile them all, and message them the questions, with only the competition names as hints. Every judge who guesses it right is a point given to that team; there's no penalty for if the judge guesses it wrong. I hope I've explained this well, and have fun!

Here's mine.
I tower above them all, they dare not steer at my shaven head. I have battled devils and spiders until days end, over and over again. Far reaching is my domain, in the alleys an streets of New York they whisper my name in fear. My wife is very ill, she sleeps silently night after night in a coma. I am the master of all that is wicked and corrupt, because none of it happens without my consent without dire concrescences, Who am I?

You look at me and laugh, but soon you look at me with terror, as if you were a tiny little crow. I thrive off your fear, I ingest your fear, I want to see your eyes livid with fear. After all, if you yourself come face with your worst fear... then I can't see my fears.

Sorry for the wait. Unexpected items have shown up in my life a bit. This next challenge is your last creativity challenge... for a while, I guess. What is it? Well, let's take a look at this table!
Name: Superhero name (Real Name if needed)
Origin:
Powers:
Identity:
Based on (optional):
Comic name:
100 HP
For this challenge, I direct you all to this thread (http://www.toonzone.net/forums/showthread.php?282759-Rule-the-World-Rise-of-the-Superhumans)'s opening posts. You will all be creating a superhero for the first part of the challenge, which is due on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10. Yes, all you need to do is create a superhero AND his/her archnemesis, which will obviously not have the HP required, along with a comic name. Speaking of which, you have 100 HP to spend on your hero. You can make a superhero team, technically, but it cost 25 points a partner, so be careful. Another thing, I would like a mental picture of your hero and villain. So, also due on Wednesday, is a picture or a description of what he/she looks like. Pictures are to be done in whatever format you like, but they must be posted in this thread, along with your entry for the challenge.
Now, I'm sure you're wondering how this will be judged. Well... that's not important for this is only the first part of the challenge. One other thing... this challenge will need equal team numbers, SO after the first part, NovelleX may send two Team Tangelo members who will not have to do the second part. NovelleX must choose these members on by Tuesday at midnight CST, or I will randomly pick two to sit out.
Any questions?

I'd prefer you keep it below four powers. I don't want everyone to be Superman! :p The sky's the limit with your power ideas though. Comic name means like, well, if it was a comic book, what would you name it? Real life examples are "The Amazing Spider-Man!," "The Mighty Thor," and "The Invincible Iron Man."

You can pick from the powers listed there. I made it so that it could cover any power. For instance, Plastic-Man's powers would be under shape-shifting.
Also comic name is the name of your comic. For instance, in the game, Blankments' character Tempa-Man is the star of the comic The Tremendous Tempa-Man.

Name: Blackout (Jameson White)
Origin: Mutant (not radioactive, mutants like in marvel comics, if allowed. Magic if not)
Powers:
Power 1: Ability to generate a field of darkness that no normal light can penetrate, up to one mile in diameter. a field of less than 10 feet can be held indefinitely. a field the size of a building can be held 30 minutes to an hour depending on how high the field reaches. anything larger than that can be generated only for 5 minutes. Side effect of darkness is immense pain for anyone trapped in the field.
Power 2: can acquire abilities from other superpowered beings through touch, though a max of 3 at a time. which three are determined by order of when they were acquired. when a new power is added, the oldest acquired power disappears, and the new power is kept in its place
Power 3: Permanent superstrength
Power 4: Genius level IQ of 250
Identity: Owner of a chain of Subways on the east coast. Lives in New York City
Based on (optional): the villain Blackout from my own story, Spider-Man: When Darkness Comes (though the one for this purpose is a good guy)
Comic name: Dark Defender
Archnemesis: The Light (a villain made purely of light. can blind people with a look and can make beams of solid light to use as weapons. looks like the living laser from Marvel Comics)
100 HP
As for appearance:
Caucasian. Five foot eleven inches. Dark wavy brown hair. Beard with no mustache. Slightly muscled, roughly how spidey looks along that lines. smaller nose, dark black eyes, pointed chin. wears suits in public. his costume is almost completely black, but with red trimming lining the collar, cuffs of the sleeves (long, not short), and around the waist, with stripes running down the outside of the legs. Material is a tough but flexible body armor that allows both free movement and provides an almost unbreakable protective environment during battles. In place of a helmet, Blackout uses merely a dark field that is constantly generated anytime he is in costume, it protects his identity and even distorts his voice. His real identity is secret

Name: The Ethnic Trout
Origin: An oncorhynchus, aka Pacific Trout. Received his powers after scientists attempted to test a super-human gene on animals to confirm if it was safe, the gene was too powerful, and the trout escaped before it could be removed.
Powers:
Power 1: Can walk on water.
Power 2: Can swim on land.
Power 3: Has control over the color of objects, and can drastically change anything's appearance with a rainbow beam that shoots out of his fins. Even himself. (Nyan Cat much?)
Power 4: Can also control the water for both defensive and offensive means.
Identity: Pacific Trout #246733546, was captured by scientists when he was young and given the aforementioned ''name''. Currently resides in New Orleans after moving out of the Pacific Ocean, makes frequent visits to Detroit. Lives in a heap of scrap metal that (for some reason) can transform into a giant dinosaur fighting robot called, "RexMech" used to fight Godzilla-sized evil-doers!
Comic Name: The Diverse Deity!
Arch nemesis: Cyrus, the Russian Bear. (Another animal tested on by scientists, his experiment also turned out negative. The results ended with him receiving a Terminator-like eye, wings, stiched body and legs, a pig's tail, a cow's utter, a pick axe for one hand, and the other hand being a extendable punching glove arm, a cup with a string hanging off of it for a hat, and to top it all off: A pin on his chest that says "I<3NY".) Is ordered by the scientists to stop The Ethnic Trout and bring him to justice, despite the fact that they've yet to realize that he's a superhero. In a sense, he's a mutated bounty hunter.
100 HP
The Ethnic Trout has an orange body with a blue head, his eyes are yellow and his tail is a mixture of the former two colors. And is supposed to represent all unions on Earth in a positive way.
I may not draw well, but here he is, in the flesh. Might present a colored version later.

Anyway, I think I've created my superhero. I'll write it up soon, once I figure out how the hell to describe his powers.

It's fine. You want to include the powers as well? People seem to be having a hard time finding them.

So.... we're following Superpan's system that not everyone's familiar with? Wait, do we HAVE to choose from that list of powers? People have already chosen powers not on the list....

At this point, I'm thinking it is more creative on one's part if they can choose whether or not to use Superpan's power system. Those who do use his system will not be penalized in the next part of the challenge, and those who don't use it also won't be penalized. However, the 100 HP is for you to spend on any of those investments, no questions asked. To be honest though, I gave people the 100 HP in case they wanted to make a superhero team that they can completely control.
For example, let's say I was playing this and my entry was Tempa-Man. However, I want to make a team called the Revengers. So... I buy four partners with this, and make characters such as the Silver Peacock, Captain Equestria, Crystal the Superdog, and Mr. Pizzapants (All copyright of Blankments, do not steal.) Then, I'd have a superhero team for the second part of the challenge, which would not hurt or help my chances. Of course, you can buy cars or jetpacks as well, but I figured the Partner system would be exploited more than it has been by now.

I'll be a flat flying sumo and I don't care about spending the rest of my points. Frankly, I hope you go somewhere interesting with this challenge, because if we have to roleplay out fights, I think I'll just have my character die of a heart attack and rely on my idol clues.

I never said your character wasn't good?
I said this is going to be fair, and if it was to roleplay fights, I wouldn't have had you guys make an archnemesis for each character. I'm still not going to tell you what the next part is, but it's not roleplaying at all.

Since everyone seems against studying the mechanics, and, more importantly, the challenge is really about creativity, I'm taking away the HP portion and choosing powers from Superpan's list of this, and giving you all complete creative control. Any previous entries do not need to be changed however.
Remember, it's due at midnight!
