Ok, Iv never really read any batman comics. Iv really only watched the animated series (which I loved) and the movies (which were ok) I know that in the first batman movie, Joker killed Wayne's parents. Is this the same as in the comics? I know sometimes comics and movies have different continuities or whatever. Also, can anyone recomend a batman comic series that is similar to TAS? I really liked the TAS :)

The 1989 Batman movie was the only storyline that feature the Joker as the murderer of Bruce Wayne's parents.
In the animated series it was never discussed who killed the Waynes, and according the comic book a common thug named Joe Chill was the murderer. Batman revealed himself to be Bruce Wayne to Joe Chill and was tempted to kill him, but he was not too long after killed by another thug.............so bruce was in the clear.
The 1989 Batman movie did two things to the Batman universe: First it gave the Joker a real name (Jack Napier)........before then the Joker's real name was unknown, and it also claimed the Joker was the killer of the Waynes. But the comics never took up on that storyline.
So only the 1989 movie is into that storyline.

Have you tried Gotham Adventures? Its the current running comic series that is based on and set in the animated world. Check out your local comic shops for it. And, you can go back and hunt down the back issues of the other incarnations of the comics: Batman Adventures (I think that's the name??) and Batman and Robin Adventures.
