Anyone else wish there were new batman:TAS eps? It was doing so well, why did they cancel it?

It never got cancelled, it just didn't get picked up again. Superman got cancelled, as WB axed it when only 52 out of the 65 eps were made.
As for why B:TAS isn't around anymore, that's because a) everyone moved onto Batman Beyond, and b) WB is cheap. But if you want to see a continuation of the tradition, look for Justice Leage this fall on Cartoon Network.

not picked up...cancelled...same thing. Why wouldnt they pick it up again? Its a shame they didnt have a better ending to it. If WB was riding high with batman, why create a new series? Ahh well. Cartoons these days are nothing like the classics. (Batman:TAS isnt exactly an old classic, but its good) Why cant companies make good old cartoons like TMNT, GI Joe, Ducktales, and the such? These days its all this crap pokemon/digimon/card captors/Lets play AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER!/Digi-Sushi/Sushimon/ etc. WHy do almost all of today's cartoons have to be so bad? I remember the days when EVERY cartoon was good.

Dini explained in "Batman Animated" that new episodes would not be profitable. With the 110 (or so) they already had, the series had more than enough for Warners to strip together for syndication. And once syndicated, additional episodes would cost money without increasing revenue.
Funny how many animated shows, knowing this is the likely result even of a successful run, don't build story arcs into the series. (Though I guess Thundercats had something like an arc.)

You'll find these sentiments running like a not so hidden thread thru most of our posts. ;)
Welcome to the boards, BTW!

Heh, thanks Maxie, good to be here. Im waiting for the day when some TV Execs will actually give a damn about the people who watch their shows (not to mention the people that keep the station alive...without us viewers those TV Execs would be bums on the street). Everything revolves around money :( Before I get too depressed, Im going to go watch some good 'ol 60's Batman eps. *BLAM!* *SPLAT!* *OOOF!*
