My personal favorite moments are in 101 Dalmations, especially the sequence where the two dog owners meet for the first time and get pulled into the water by their dogs. That is a marvelous scene.

Utena and Anthy dancing among the stars in Adolescance of Utena...that was so beautiful! The best scene in the whole film.

A more dark romantic moment would have to be from End of Evangelion, where Asuka strokes Shinji's cheek, driving him to tears. Watching her at last accept him and comfort him after everything they've gone through (including the Apocalypse) is beautiful in itself.

I always thought the end of Gundam W where Hero gives Reelena the invitation and the teddy bear was good.

I love EVA ep 16 where Kaji and Misato are walking away together and she's telling him why she broke off their relationship, was good.

The scene where "Ash" and "Sam"?"Sammy"? watch the sun rise from a tree, with their arms around eachother in Pokemon 4. It's just too cute in a bittersweet sort of way, because it can't last.

"Davis" running after a truck to save his little Ken-chan. And the "Rika"/"Jeri" hug.

Li and Sakura talking about when they started crushing on "Julian". It's a scene completely born from the yaoi/yuri tradition, but it actually leads to something that becomes canon. And movie 2's just too cute in a couple-y way overall. Suppi and Kero get a whole short to act kawaii around eachother... Eriol's girlfriend is over at his house, but he only shows up for a phone call. And two very persisent girls keep running off together, leaving Li and Sakura to blush and stammer.

I also like the Tenchi Universe series ending(Ryoko jumping into Tenchi's arms)...also the whole Sailor Moon S movie,and the Ah! My Goddess movie ending...

I've always loved the ending of Outlaw Star with Gene and Melfina :)
ummm, and the rest of the stuff I can think of right now is manga so that won't count.
But still, I know that most of the Ranma 1/2 stuff is pretty similar to the manga and I love the Ranma/Akane tension (especially the Romeo and Juliet episode). I don't know how different the anime is in this case though.

*Daria and Tom's first kiss in "Dye! Dye! My Darling!" Followed by their second kiss about a minute later, right after she all but says, "Never again! It was a mistake!" :D

*Fry's wooing of and sacrifice for Leela in the brain worm ep of Futurama...and when he finally realizes what he did to win her heart in the episode with the Harlem Globetrotters and the time skips.

*The death of Julia in Cowboy Bebop, where Spike realizes he has nothing else to live for. Followed by Faye's little tantrum with the gun--she had tender feelings for him, in her own fashion...if not really love, then at least something she hated to have denied.

*Ash giving Casey his Beedril. These two are made for each other, and I'm waiting for either Jessy or Misty to point it out to him. As I've said before, we men are miserably dense creatures....

*Of course, a crippled Ensign Shimada hobbling off supported by his lady love at the end of Gundam 0080. Anything involving a woman and a man loving each other despite a horrible mishap or grotesque mutation, really, goes right to the top of my list....

I have to agree with you there. I thought it was so cute when Daria got her first kiss from Tom.

The most romantic anime scene I've seen and that made me actually cry was in the anime series "The Rose of Versailles--Lady Oscar(in French)" when Lady Oscar finaly after so many years confessed her love for André. Then they have only one night of bliss before they get killed :(

Sometimes I wonder why certain women shy away when they know a man likes them. this will always be a mystery to me.
