View Full Version : Rule The World VIII - Multiverse Edition! (Round Thirty-Five)
The Huntsman

You do not have to play as a pre-existing character, but you can if you want to. If you are unfamiliar with what happened in the previous games, the backgrounds will fill you in on the basics.
HERE IS THE MAP! (http://i.imgur.com/aaKQt.png)
You have been gathered from various dimensions. You have fought many battles; you have tasted both victory and defeat. However, the time has come for you to prove your worth once and for all. The only way that you will be allowed to return home, should you choose to do so, is eliminate your opposition and rule the world. If you fail to do so, your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body. Here is what I need.
Leader Name
Background
Nation Name
Color
Starting Nation (just describe where you want to start as best you can)
Resources: 0
Happiness: 50%
Stability: 50%
Investments:
Mechanics:
At the beginning of each round, players will get two free resources. They can tax additional resources at any time, which will lower their happiness. If happiness routinely drops, stability will begin to drop, which will jeopardize their control of the nation. The roundly output of happiness and resources can be boosted with the purchase of investments. It takes five resources to expand, background bonus aside. Stability can only be improved by your actions. If I determine your actions to be sound, and that your people have faith in your government, stability will rise. If not… well, you get the idea.
Warfare is handled as it has always been. 1D20 will be rolled for both sides per flank, with modifiers being taken into consideration. The nation with the highest outcome wins the battle and advances on that flank. However, one background bonus nullifies all dice modifiers, so keep that in mind. I’m keeping plane and ship combat very simple this time; when they engage, they roll 1D20, and the loser simply dies. It’s the best compromise that allows for them to be a factor, but still makes it easy to manage. However, one background lets you control planes and ships directly, which can greatly alter their roles.
Informal alliances do exist in this game, but you can only be formally allied if one member has the diplomatic bonus. A formal alliance is a powerful thing, allowing you to share investments, claim land and launch attacks through one another’s territory, and you get +3 to warfare rolls when your ally is providing reinforcements.Backgrounds:
Rule The World: North America Edition – The collapse of the United States brought about years of civil war, but after the dust settled, three nations stood victorious. The Threescore Alliance, under the command of Emperor Raven, crushed the competition; their victory made possible by the assassination of Petoria’s president and the sudden unraveling of Atlantica’s military might. You thought that was the end of the fighting. You were wrong. You were sent one day to a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the old school bonus, allowing them to expand for free and nullifying all modifiers during warfare.
Rule The World: Operation Revolución – When North America fell, the vestments of power in South America refused to budge, so you and your rebel army sought to unseat them. However, your fate lied elsewhere. Plucked from your comrades in the midst of a heated battle, you arrived in a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the revolución! bonus, allowing them to destabilize other nations by rallying their people against the government.
Rule The Worlds II: The Old World – It wasn’t long until the turmoil in the west spread east. One by one, the nations of the old world fell like dominoes, and new nations arose in their place in an attempt by their leaders to rule the world. In the end, a diplomatic solution was sought and Vladimir was elected the leader of the world, despite many questions about his worthiness. It is unclear what came next, as before you could see it, you were sent to a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the diplomatic bonus, allowing alliances to be formally created and providing all of the benefits thereof.
Rule The World III: Failed Experiment – It feels like a dream. No one knows how the world collapsed, or why it even collapsed, yet new nations rose to power by controlling their armies as never before. It seemed that the future held great opportunity, but the arrival of a pirate ship the size of Texas sent the world into chaos and the next thing you remember is blacking out. You woke up in a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the advanced warfare bonus, allowing them to directly control their armies. When your ships and planes engage the enemy, you will be able to give out specific orders. Have your planes do a barrel roll or have your ships raise the Jolly Roger and pretend to be a pirates. Or be smart and actually give effective orders. If you consider yourself a tactician, you can take this background and receive combat bonuses depending on your actions. You will also be able to pick specific targets for your planes to attack, instead of just sending them out and hoping for the best.
Rule The World III ½ – There was a collapse of some sort. Some stuff happened. Honestly, despite hosting it, this is the Rule The World that I least remember. It was the last one that used basic rules, which didn’t make it as fun, and the maps aren’t even uploaded. Yet it managed to get 700+ replies. Go figure. When the world entered a sudden peace at the behest of its bitter and tired god, you were sent to a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the why on earth are you selecting this background bonus, giving them a farm of killer ostriches that their soldiers can ride into battle on, granting a permanent +3 to warfare rolls that can’t be negated by the old school bonus.
Rule The World IV – There was a collapse of some sort. Some stuff happened. I sucked as a host. I never had a story, never kept adequate records and the maps all got deleted because I used my photobucket account. I did a much better job in VII, until my cat died and my internet connection failed on me. When the world entered a sudden peace at the behest of its bitter and tired god, you were sent to a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the invested bonus, allowing them to start the game with three free investments of their choice, provided that they are eligible for them.
Rule The World V – World War II left the world in shambles. A select few rose up and formed new nations in an attempt to repair it, and over the course of many years, during which both nazis and aliens were defeated, a new world was forged. It seemed that Sitnalta, led by the honorable Galileo Cartoon would lead the new world, but a real estate deal went bad and he lost half of his land to the ambitious King Lee. The world had peace, but it was an outcome that few openly wanted. It is uncertain what came next, as before you could witness it with your own eyes, you were sent to a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the productive bonus, doubling happiness and resource gains.
RULE THE WORLD VI: Pantheon – While most would consider warfare to be a mortal affair, the gods have proven themselves quite capable of slaughtering one another in order to secure their dominance. Over the course of several millennia, numerous gods did just that. In the end, the time traveler Hugh Bliss managed to defeat Kamui and rally the other gods to oppose the god of gods, preventing the great flood and bringing about eternal bliss. However, you soon grew bored with the world as you knew it and decided to venture into another dimension, a foreign world where various champions were being gathered; this is an excellent chance for you to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the otherworldly bonus, giving them access to god-tier investments.
Rule The World VII – North America experienced a great collapse, sending its people into anarchy and civil war. The rest of the world attempted to restrain the damage, but they, too, succumbed to it. It wasn’t long until the every leader in the world was competing against one another in an effort to rule the world. However, the world was changed indefinitely by the remnants of the United States government, who after the death of their president, spiraled out of control and gave rise to Maximillian Friedman. After events too numerous to recap, Pit Allen managed to emerge as the ultimate victor. However, at one point or another you were taken from this world and sent to a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the advanced technologies bonus, giving them access to top-tier investments.
Rule New York – The United States chose to abandon New York City after years of neglect, giving rise to petty crime lords and would be mafiosi. However, new nations formed over time, allowing civilization and stability to be brought back to the people. In the end, the combined efforts of Claude Fox and Steven Cain proved to be formidable, with them handily winning the election. History would be written about all of the city’s players, but history is subject to change; before your triumph or defeat, you were plucked away and sent to a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world. Players who select this background will get the steady hand bonus, giving them a permanent 100% stability and firm control of their nation at all times.Economic Investments:
Silo (5) – You have to walk before you can crawl. Er… Allowing your merchants to store surplus grain, which can be traded for beads and candied yams, is a good way to get the economy started. Silos grant +1 to per round resources.
Mines (10) – Your experiences from alternate universes have taught you that you can always abuse Mother Nature and defile the landscape in order to get rich. Sure, this world is pretty, but gold is prettier. Mines grant +2 to per round resources.
The World’s Largest Ball Of Twine (15) – You saw this in a movie once. Or maybe it wasn’t a movie. Either way, you have built what is considered to be the world’s largest ball of twine, which is sure to bring in tourists from all across the world. However, if another nation makes the same claim, it could lead to twine based warfare. It’s the worst kind, I assure you. The World’s Largest Ball Of Twine grants +2 to per round resources.
Mercenary Company (20) – The funny thing about merchants is that people like to rob them. To ensure that they can go about doing their business, a mercenary company needs to be established that has the sole duty of protecting them. Mercenary Company grants +1 to per round resources and prevents attacks on merchants.
Merchant Navy (20) – Merchants know how to make money, but getting that money isn’t as easy as it seems. However, giving them a merchant navy allows them to capitalize on trade routes, but they may be attacked by pirates. Merchant Navy grants +3 to per round resources. Requires Mercenary Company.
Bank (30) – This is where the magic happens, as nobody can make money – and make it disappear – quite like banks can. It will be the center of your financial institutions and give you wealth for years to come, but getting there is expensive. Banks grant +10 to per round resources. Requires Electricity, Mercenary Company, Merchant Navy, Horseless Carriages, University and… Walnuts. Well, maybe not that last thing.Infrastructural Investments:
Housing (5) – Building homes for your people to live in? What a novel idea! I thought they would live in the bushes forever. Housing grants +1 to per round happiness.
Plumbing (10) – What good is a house if it’s covered in… well, let’s just say your people will appreciate being able to flush the toilet. Plumbing grants +1 to per round happiness. Requires Housing.
Electricity (15) – You’ve managed to build a low-tech power plant using fossil fuels. And squirrels. Your people will love you for it, but you’ll likely lose the support of the squirrels. Electricity grants +2 to per round happiness and allows for high-tier investments. Requires Plumbing.
Roads (5) – Roads allow your people to get from Point A to Point B. What’s not to love? Roads grant +1 to per round resources and +1 to per round happiness.
Carriageless Horse (10) – While roads allow your people to get from Point A to Point B, walking gives them cramps and they’re prone to random wolf attacks. A carriageless horse is just what they need! “Why walk when you can ride”, or so they say. Carriageless Horse grants +1 to per round happiness. Requires Roads.
Horseless Carriage (15) – You don’t have the tech to build cars much better than this, and it’s fueled by a hamster running in a wheel under the hood, but your people will be happy enough and have the means to travel easier. Horseless Carriage grants +2 to per round happiness. Requires Carriageless Horse.
School (10) – You need a place to teach the little ones about the world. Their minds are like putty, ready to be molded to your whim and then be thrown away after it becomes dry and crusty. School grants +1 to per round happiness.
College (20) – An institution of high learning, although not being an accredited university, “high” might not be being used in the proper manner. Still, the peasants will be happy with the worthless degrees. College grants +2 to per round happiness. Requires School.
University (30) – Finally, a place for all three of the educated citizens in your nation to meet and decide the future of the world. University grants +3 to per round happiness and establishes a branch of the illuminati in your nation.Military Investments:
Barracks (5) – You need a place to train your soldiers, unless you want them running around firing at one another. Actually, that sounds like it could be pretty fun. Barracks grant +1 to warfare rolls.
City Walls (10) – Cities are fun places. Walls make them more fun. It’s been proven by science. City Walls grant +1 to per round stability and grants +1 to warfare rolls.
Coastal Artillery (10) – You have build cannons along your coastline. They will be able to shoot at enemy ships, or pirate ships, or ships that you generally don’t like. 1D20 will be rolled, with a successful hit requiring a 14 or higher. If you have radar technologies, a 12 or higher is needed. Requires Coast.
Fortified Coastal Artillery (20) – It's like coastal artillery, but fortified, which protects it from enemy attacks and even the wrath of god. Requires Coast.
Air-Force (20) – Your air-force is grand! Actually, it looks like it was taken from World War I. I think that may actually be the Red Baron’s plane over there. Still, they can shoot the enemy and drop bombs at their discretion. Investing in an air-force gives you six planes. You will send them out and they will pick a destination on their own, rolling 1D20 and succeeding if they roll a fourteen or above. If planes enter a dogfight, standard warfare will be implemented and 1D20 will be rolled, with the losing plane crashing into a hillside. If you have aerial superiority over your enemy, you will receive a +5 bonus to warfare rolls.
Navy (20) – If you have a coast, you need to have a navy. Hypothetically, you could have a navy even without a coast, but people may question your sanity. Either way, investing in a navy provides you with a dozen ships. When they engage the enemy, standard warfare will be implemented and 1D20 will be rolled, with the losing ship simply sinking into the abyss. If you have naval superiority over your enemy, any of your battles occurring on coastal territory will receive a +5 bonus to warfare rolls. Requires Coast.High-Tier Investments
Radar (10) – If you are being attacked by air or by sea, radar will detect their attack and you will be able to prepare for it. If you have coastal artillery or anti-air defenses, they will automatically go into effect if the alarm rings. It also improves their accuracy. Requires Electricity.
Anti-Air Defense (20) – If you are being hassled by planes, investing in anti-air defense is the only way to go. 1D20 will be rolled each time a plane attacks and, if the result is 14 or higher, the plane will be shot down. If you have radar technologies, a 12 or higher is needed. Keep in mind that stealth bombers can never be shot down, and without fortification, your anti-air defense could be toast in a matter of minutes. Requires Electricity.
Fortified Anti-Air Defense (30) – You get what you pay for. Through spending ten additional resources, your anti-air defense will become fortified, protecting it from enemy attacks and even the wrath of god. Requires Electricity.
Communications (30) – You have given your nation communications. The people are beside themselves. Never has the world been opened up in such a manner. Communications grant +5 to per round happiness and +5 to per round resources. Requires Electricity.Top-Tier Investments
Rocket Science (10) – You have managed to get a satellite into space. Don’t ask how. I couldn’t tell you if you did. However, it will keep an eye on enemy movements and you will never get surprise attacked.
DeLorean (20) – The people of this world don’t know what they’re missing out on, with their carriageless horses and horseless carriages. You’ll give them a car that is guaranteed to get them from Point A to Point B, although they may end up at a different time. DeLorean grants +5 to per round happiness. Requires Roads.
Stealth Bomber Factory (30) – The pinnacle of flight! You’ve managed to build a factory that will give you one free stealth bomber every five rounds. These planes are nigh invulnerable and you will be able to decimate enemy lines! Unfortunately, it takes two hamsters in wheels to power it, and it always crashes mid flight. Still, think of the damage you can do while those hamsters are still running! The factory is also fortified, protecting it from enemy attacks and even the wrath of god. Requires Electricity.
Ion Cannon (9001) – You remember the good old days when ion cannons wrecked down upon the world. Sadly, you will never be able to make an ion cannon. Stop thinking about it. Stop it!God-Tier InvestmentsTemple (10) – Your people love you. They wish to worship you. Give them temples and they will give you everything, although you may get bored after the umpteenth virgin sacrifice. Temple grants +5 to per round happiness.
Missionaries (20) – You are divine. Why not spread the word about that? With this investment, you will have a chance of converting a region each round and it will join you automatically, even if that region is owned by another nation. Requires Temple.
The Pantheon (30) – You have managed to convince some of your old buddies to come with you to this new world. You now have the power of the gods on your side, and once every five rounds, you can use your omnipotence as you see fit. Want to destroy an enemy nation’s investment? Make their ships sink into the sea? Eat all of the pies cooling in their windows? Well, now you can! Caution: The game master is not responsible for any backfires brought about by an attempt to reach too far and do too much with your pantheon. Requires Temple.---

I'm baaaaa-aaack...
For those of you who don't know who I am, I am Mark Nichols. I've had my ups and I've had my downs, and I was retired from this nation conquering business until I got whisked away to here. If you want a brief bio, here goes:
In my first attempt (RTWII), I took down the country's leader and allied with Emperor Raven. We went far, but a stupid "meganation" move brought my country to nothing.
In my second attempt (RTW3.5), I turned on Emperor Raven and killed him on my TV show in one of the best moments in my career. Then I got a hold of a flux capacitor, which I've used to bend the laws of physics and travel through the universe. Of course, I don't have it anymore. My son died, Andrew Brees took over my country and changed my show, so I tried to kill him. I was arrested and ended up bribing the jury to let me free. Brees is still alive, regrettably. Sad, I know.
In my third attempt (RTW4), I think I was just there. Nothing really happened.
In my fourth and final attempt (RTWV), I made some of the stupidest moves of all time. After conquering the biggest nation on Earth, I gave away all the land, then got cocky and attacked the biggest alliance. I lost big, but took shelter in the United States. After the war ended, I regained my land through a trade, and it backfired. Thus, retirement.
But now I'm back. So get ready for that, because I'm not going to let anything stop me, except personal vendettas towards the people I don't like.

Perhaps III ½ wasn't as bad as I remember it, but the problem is I don't remember it very much at all. As for the ostriches, III ½ didn't have any unique features unlike every other Rule The World, so I had to come up with something. :p

Rule the World? HM! Thanks, but no thanks. Maybe you BARBARIANS are into this sort of thing - conquest, pillage, plunder, WAR - but I am a man of peace. Indeed I AM Peace - it is my philosophy, my religion, my very way of life! I just want to share my Peace with everyone! And I will. One way, or the other.
Rule the World? Totalitarianism! You traitors, rogues, scoundrels, blaguards, murders, warmongerers, thugs, pirates... you think you're stronger than MORALITY? Bigger than FREEDOM? I do not RULE, I LEAD. This is the way - the ONLY WAY - a country can survive. You don't believe me? Let me show you the error of your wicked ways!
Rule the World? Indeed! Some people may not know it yet, but we have been chosen by God himself - we are the only true ruler, and we rule all that we can see. So there's no need for all this fuss - we don't have to fight! You're ALREADY, technically, under us - God said so, and you can't argue with Him. What? You object? Well, we can't have that...
Rule the World? Thanks! Don't mind if I do!

Ah, screw it.
I'm BAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Yo this is a story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there
I'll tell you how I was robbed and left with no heir!
In Northern Alaska, born and raised
In my castle, was where I spent most of my days
Chillin out, maxin, relaxin' all cool
Had a bunch of cold guys, that I totally ruled
When a couple of guys, they were up to no good!
Started blowing up my neighborhood!
I got into the war and they all got scared
Said "Oh please Mr. Raven Sir let us be spared!"
Went over to Europe, but when I got there
Was betrayed but some jerk with gel in his hair
It's true what they say, true frienship is rare
So I jumped into my time-thing with no time to spare!
I
got
Lost in the timestream, for a coupla days
Was a moose, was an actor, it was pretty strange
But now look! My kingdom! I'm finally there!
So get out of my way, or you'll regret it I swear

As much as I love that map, I promised myself I'd take a break from RTW this summer. So I'm gonna have to pass on this one....It doesn't look like we're going to have enough players at this point. Several of the regular members have lost interest in the game. I still contend that it's possible to play the game and spend less than five minutes per day on it. It's the host that has to do all of the work.

Surely Superpan - the multi-verse's nanny - will be showing up any minute now, though. But chdr, Jacques, The Cartoon. They all seem to have lost interest. We used to get nearly a dozen players. I believe JAG and Superdude are still interested, if their internet connection problems have been resolved. VP VP had connection issues and was forced to drop out of the New York game.
We're going to be drastically low on players this game, methinks.

NAME: Superpan (Troy Peterson of Rule the World V)
Background: Rule the World VII
Nation Name: Neverozwonderland

Are we still on the RNY system for resources?
Also the first three RTWS were on the same world.
Anyway on to the backstory...
Hello people of the world! It is the dawn of a new era on this world! I and my companion Troy Peterson of Earth...7 have arrived to BRING CIVILIZATION! I am the Superpan and I have traveled across the multiverse. I have seen the vile acts of Pharaoh and King Lee on my homeworld and have even helped bring down the reign of King Al Geraci. However, my elder compatriot has known a true monster. We have come to KILL PIT ALLEN!
We will save the multiverse from this madman. However, do not think that we are a warlike people. Rather, we seek to finally establish the IDEAL nation. Currency will be a thing of the past, as will so many other restrictive things of the past. We shall restore democracy at a much more efficent style. We shall rise to a greater glory....WE SHALL BUILD OUR SELVES A HOME!
My capital will be at the American Camelot.
Ok, so comments:
PIERRE LARUE IS BACK! MY SISTER AND I ARE HUGE FANS! Will you smoke again, huh? Huh? Normally, my multiversal selves don't smoke, but they'll make an exception. He's one of my favorite characters in the multiverse.
Are we having capitals again?
Huh....I was going to say something else. Oh Hi, Mark Nichols. You're my best friend.

I think I actually wanted to play as Vladimir Rusakova, from Rule The World IV; it would have been interesting to have two “communist” nations in the game. My second choice would have been The WTO from Rule The World II, especially since no other player selected that background and being able to establish formal alliances would have been quite helpful. However, the fact that nobody else imported from Rule The World VI was too glaring, so I’ll be playing as Hugh Bliss again. I’ll probably start the game at midnight.
Edit: Actually, I'm going to play as Vladimir. If we don't have any gods playing, then so be it.

Emperor JAG. And yes, I vaguely recall seeing the King as I passed through the Multiverse. Poor man. I have no idea what became of him, but-
*lightning flashes, a trumpet fanfare echoes across the entire planet, the clouds part, and an immensely thick, leather-bound book entitled 'The Glorious Book of Thoth' appears on a golden pedestal before each world leader. A telepathic voice in each leader's mind instructs them to turn to page 4,971. The page reads:*
Good day to thee, mortals. I am Thoth, God of War and Wisdom, keeper of all knowledge. I do not normally interact directly with mortals these days, but I shall make an exception now to answer the questions put forth by the Superpan.
The Jag of Earth V lived out the remainder of his life in an Arctic Republic mental asylum. Some years after the Republic's formation, its capital was attacked by pro-King Lee terrorist organization. The asylum was a primary target, and several of the terrorists broke into Jag's cell. Even in his advanced age, weak from years of confinement, and unarmed, the former King managed to kill three of his attackers before succumbing to multiple gunshots to the head.
I am unable to comment on the current status of the being commonly referred to as Pharaoh. Some things are simply not meant to be known by mortal minds.
I shall allow each of this world's leaders to retain a copy of my Glorious Book. However, for purposes of security and thine own sanity, I must erase all text from its hallowed pages. Only passages which I deem relevant shall be revealed to thee at times of my choosing.

King Nothing's country had a civil war against people who worshiped aliens in a fictional book and then he attacked a mysterious and insane leader who disappeared. Obviously not a good choice.
Compare this to Michael Logi. He was elected for NY Congress and was accused of communism by the dashingly handsome Toby Adams Jr. Of course, both Logis disagreed until the truth came out.

That last part's a lie. Damien truly had no idea his son was a commie, and the shock gave him health problems, and eventually killed him. Also, I believe this takes place before the end of RNY, considering the "before your triumph or defeat, you were plucked away and sent to a foreign world and were told that the only way you could return home is to test your mettle and rule the world" bit. How can your character even know the Logi family history anyway?

Extra Information: In essence, this world was made for the sake of determining which of you is capable of ruling the world. Because nobody chose to import into Rule The World II, there will be no formal alliances, which means that the game will only end once one player is the last person standing. If the last few players are in an informal alliance, their alliance will be broken and they will be forced to go to war with one another. The technology in this new world is limited, but there is enough food to go around and a near infinite amount of weapons and ammunition for your people to use. All you have to focus on is expanding, maintaining the vital statistics of your nation, and ultimately defeating your enemies. There will be a number of minor events in each round, except for the first one, and your responses to those events will have an impact on your nation in the future. Major events are usually reserved for news, although worldwide decisions that have to be made by every player will also show up in major events.
Here is the map! (http://i.imgur.com/p9tbE.png)

…And so it begins. While you are still uncertain of the situation that you have found yourselves in, the people in the land that you arrived in have not opposed your rule. In fact, they’re quite content to follow your orders – within reason – and you believe that you can take advantage of this opportunity. If you wish, you could have them be more productive in their daily labors, which will grant your nation a permanent +1 to per round resources. If that is not your preference, you could have them spend more time honing their combat skills, which will grant your nation a permanent +1 to warfare rolls. Or you could instruct them to build you a monument – a wonder of this new world for all to see, which will add 20% to your total stability. The choice is yours.

As for the make-your-own-event system, it depends. Some things may require resources. Some things may not. However, this is not a normal world, so I doubt the make-your-own-event system will be as useful this game. It still exists, but it's not going to be like when I hosted Rule The World VII.

In Neverozwonderland, a team is deployed in order to get a sense of the people who are now being governed. It appears that most of them know very little about the world and have lived out their lives as nomads in the harsh deserts of the southern continent. They have never had a government before, yet when asked why they willingly follow a stranger, they spoke of prophecy. In the ruins, far to the south, there is a tomb belonging to a shaman. Upon the walls was an inscription, describing how the shaman would one day return to the world and unite the southern continent. It may be worth sending an expedition to this tomb, although it would not be cheap (10), and it would likely take quite some time to hear back from them – if you ever hear back from them at all.
In The Communist Republic Of Logistan, Michael Logi has held a festival in honor of his people, in an effort to get to know them and win over their support. There isn’t much to tell about your people, as they seem to have been nothing more than hunter-gatherers until you brought them organization. The people appreciate your efforts, and happiness has gone up by one percent… but that is not the highlight of the festival. As Michael Logi was about to wrap up the event, a well-dressed man ran up to him. He claims to have once worked for your father, as his PR Representative in New York City, and now wishes to work for you. He is convinced that the simple nature of the people will make his job easier than ever, but he still requests the same ten resources that he was once paid. Do you want his services?
In V-D, a team is deployed in order to get a sense of the people who are now being governed. The far northwest is a frigid place, but your people have grown accustomed to the weather and have lived by the sea for generations. They speak of legends, of buried treasure in uncharted waters, protected by creatures the likes of which you have never heard of before. These could just be rumors, told by sea captains to impress their friends, but some are convinced that it’s out there. Unfortunately, you don’t know enough to even think about launching an expedition, but it may be worth looking into.
In Nouvelle Nova Gallia, the newfound school has… shocked some of the local inhabitants. Let it be known that this is a government of the people. I will tax 10 resources for this expedition. Please create a character who will lead this expedition. You'll be playing Indiana Jones in your spare time. It may or may not be eventful, but if the dice dictate it, you will have to respond to certain situations and your leader will be a desert away.
Would it be possible to colonize the nearby islands without a Navy of any sort?Yes. I originally required ferries, but dropped that idea.

I will lead this expedition with my aide Bruce Smith. My counterpart from Earth 7 will be leading in my stead as he would react to anything the same way I do because...well, he is me. An older, more experienced version of me. Did you know this guy was President of the United States for nearly 40 years?

It occurs to me, Huntsman, that the people who picked the "Classic" bonus may have a huge advantage with the "Expand for free" thing. Are you sure about that one?

It occurs to me, Huntsman, that the people who picked the "Classic" bonus may have a huge advantage with the "Expand for free" thing. Are you sure about that one?I wanted every background to be immensely overpowered by design, giving players a reason to import from different games instead of all picking the “best” one. Your bonus is powerful, but Jmill’s bonus will easily let him get dozens of resources and happiness per round once he gets the investments. Superpan’s bonus lets him send out a stealth bomber every five rounds, once he has the investments, and decimate his enemies. JAG’s bonus allows him to assume direct control of his individual units and will give him a bunch better chance of winning “superiority” and getting the massive warfare bonuses provided by it. Johnny’s bonus gives him the largest permanent warfare modifier, and it counts even when going to war with a character imported from the first game. And nobody even imported from Operation: Revolución and Pantheon, which were arguably the most damning bonuses. Blankments and Cradleman have 100% stability and full control; they could impose a 100% tax rate and thier people would just shrug it off.
Ultimately, my character has the worst bonus. I got three investments for free – I selected housing, plumbing and electricity – but that only gives me an advantage in the early stages of the game. I originally planned on letting imported characters from IV have five investments for free, but that seemed too much.

so, a suggestion to make it easier when expanding. why don't you number the uncolonized territories? wouldn't take TOO long i assume, and it'd be easier to say "expand into zone 23" then attempt to describe exactly which one you want to expand into. just a thought

However, I'll go through and put a different color dot on each map area. That way, people can say "I want the brown dotted country". If there are more than one brown dotted country, well, I'll be able to tell which one you want because you can only expand to nations that are near you.
Edit... Actually, there are too many countries and I don't have the patience to do that. We'll just stick with "I want to expand west". If there is more than one country to the west, you can say "I want to expand west, taking the northern country". It's not that hard.

cool. i like that as well.Yeah, but I edited my post. There are too many countries. It took me a long time to draw the borders on that map; I don't want to spend even longer putting dots on each country. We'll just stick with directional expansion. East. North. That sort of thing. I understand that it's an inconvenience, but players don't usually have to deal with the inconveniences that these games have. So I would appreciate it if people can just try to use the current system.

Certainly! I shall need some money, and since these people seem rather primitive, I shall bring them into the modern day! I tax 34 resources on them, and I will spend ten of those resources on you, fine comrade! To the citizens, do not worry about this high tax. It shall benefit you next month when I announce a grand plan of modernization!

…It’s going to be a slow day, today. I’ll try to make things interesting soon, but I always preferred a “hands-off” approach to running these things, letting players start their own stories by messing with one another. I think most people are too far away from one another to do that at the moment, but it’ll happen sooner or later. I’ll start throwing in some NPCs in due time and I’ll start randomly giving out events.

Hey everybody!
Troy Peterson of Earth 7 here!
I will use a tax to procure the neccessary taxes to establish a system of PLUMBING and use the five resources to expand to the territory northeast of us.
With the availability of toilets, citizens will get to choose from two options. These two options celebrate Superpan's past victories: the "Pharaoh" and the "John".
And I get the boring, unhelpful people. *sigh* But complaining is for lesser men. Given time, I have little doubt that my citizens will improve themselves and become worthy of the Jagopolan title.
Now, to business. I am taxing four resources this round in order to fund the construction of a mine. To aleviate any concerns these taxations may create for my people, I hereby vow not to make a habit of this. I only ask for these resources now so that we may increase our output and stay competitive. I will make amends by improving Jagopolis' quality of life with a public works project as soon as the neccesary funds are available.

Heh. I was wondering if anybody would ever question that. It was the first name that popped into my head when I signed up for the first game, and it just sort of stuck. In Neverozwonderland, the tax collectors sent out to acquire the funds to implement plumbing turned up dead. It would seem that the people are unhappy about how far Superpan has tested his reach and stability has fallen by ten percent. Elsewhere, Bruce Smith and his expedition have ventured deep into the deserts, and one of the guides mentions that a rival, hostile tribe has dominion over the area. You need to get through it, but how you attempt to get through it is up to you. You are free to ask your guide for advice if you are uncertain, but he may or may not be capable of deciding successfully.
In The Extreme Kingdom Of Overkill, King Nothing has attempted to build an amusement park. However, the lack of electricity and T-Rex bones has halted construction before it could even begin. A lesser attraction could be built, but it would be a simple carnival with games of skill and few – if any – rides. No resources were spent.
Likewise, in The Communist Republic Of Logistan, the lack of electricity required to power the televisions and make a studio possible has caused the project to be put on hold. No resources were spent. I think what you wanted sounded too similar to what the “communications” investment was supposed to provide, anyway.
In Ravenland, some peasants unearthed a strange object while tending to their fields. It appears to be a lamp of sorts. They have presented it to Emperor Raven as a gift, but several advisors cite ancient lore and claim that it will only bring tragedy to the nation. Do you accept the gift?
In The Exceptional Country Of Rocks, news of the nation’s wealth has spread to nearby regions, causing one of them to join the nation voluntarily. Advisors believe that Mark Nichols could do more to capitalize on this, intentionally spreading that news far and wide. This would no doubt cause many more nations to join you in the years to come, but it could also make your nation a target for those seeking that wealth.
In Big G Universal, the nation recently gained access to the coast and the military commanders are encouraging Steven Cain to commission a navy as soon as possible. If a navy is built within the next two rounds, the military commanders will fund the creation of an additional two ships.
In The Empire Of Jagopolis, a petition is sent to Emperor Jag requesting the authorization of a merchants’ guild. It will cost the nation ten resources, but the power of the merchants would be an economic boon to the nation and it would open many doors to wealth, although the power of the merchants would also gradually make you look less powerful by comparison. Do you authorize the merchants’ guild?

Gold, or... *pause* I think it would be better if we just duck down and find a low place in the sands and wait until nightfall, and make our way to the ruins under the cover of darkness. The key to NPCs is keeping them in the back of the line - it's easy to forget that they're not "real" characters. I feel like what's his name - King Lee or whichamacallit, who ended up with like half of the world - is a good example of an NPC who got too ambitious. Of course, on the other extreme they just become lackeys and are too stubborn to do be negotiated with... it's a balancing act.

Presumably, somewhere out there is a universe with a second Emperor Raven - THERE's a thought! But, for the most part, every time a "Raven" pops up in any history, it was just me - my "time machine", apparently, worked as a Dimensional-gapper-thingy instead.
Now, most of my conquests ended in failure BUT. When my allies betrayed me in Europe, we decided to leave our North American colonies out of the fighting. So, presumably, somewhere in the multi-verse - I STILL RULE A THIRD OF NORTH AMERICA.
I wish that you would find the dimension where this is so, an open a dimensional bridge between my castle HERE, and any safe spot you can find in my country THERE. I'm not going away - I'm not even nearly done conquesting, here - but my peaceful old country could provide with vital resources that will help our little experiment. Besides, it'll be so nice to see Alaska again, even for just a second...Ahem. ....Having followed this series of games from the beginning, I can't help but notice that investments DO seem to introduce alot of stress...almost like...I don't know, the more involved we get the more we feel like a REAL rulers so when our plans backfire, it seems like we're getting dethroned or something...
...I mean, look taxes are bad and everything, but would they really want to go without clean water or toilets? I mean what are they going to spend their happiness on? Grass?...
That said, this game seems fairly streamlined and filled with potential and while investments are sometimes difficult to afford, they did give us RTW V which I feel had the best storyline out of any game....though that maybe because of the massive history buff that I am. So, I'd be fine with game as it is now.
That said, Chimag's "He's Bloodthirsty" song is still possibly the funniest thing I've ever read on the Internet.

I'm not even sure if I'm going to have a story, really.
Perhaps we could keep the investments, but drop the events system. The players could just roleplay with one another to decide the story. Could people live with that? It's difficult for me to come up with stories day in and day out, and more often than not, players ask for things that I can't provide them anyway.

I'd actually prefer that. I think it's the role-played storylines that make the game.

*.....gets hat off the ground. Puts hat on...* The general is back in action.
I have sent a task force over to the "far northwest" to investigate what's going on. We are hoping to find at least one thing(or more...) in the area. Treasure would be great, but creatures? Heh, even better...

I'd actually prefer that. I think it's the role-played storylines that make the game. We’re doing that. I’m sorry, folks, but I’ve always been a terrible host. It’s better for me to keep my hands off of the story. I went back and removed any bonuses provide by earlier events, providing a refund where applicable. This will also keep my gears turning, as instead of taking me over an hour to update the game, it’ll take me five minutes. That will increase significantly when war breaks out, but the bulk of the time I’ve spent updating the game has been me staring at a blank word document trying to come up with something to write. The exception to this is JAG, as due to his background bonus, he will be able to control his planes and ships and that will likely require some degree of writing on my part.

Very well. Let's see what we can do with that.
As Superpan flys back down into the ground, he is greeted by his elder counterpart.
"How did the expedition fare, my younger counterpart?" Troy the elder asked.
"Uh...let's not talk about it. There was a cave-in, a human sacrifice, a comical dance number...let's just forget it ever happened. Good thing that everybody on that expedition were the most hated, cowardly, men with the least relatives in the village. Let's just hope that eventually people will forget about the shaman and turn to the loving power of Yahweh-Ek."
"Speaking of our multiversal troubles....we have new evidence about the true identity of Maxmillian Friedman."
Superpan stared in shock.
"See, I was reviewing files on the history of possibly the first Earth in our multiverse....you know, the one that Raven and Green came from? Well, I was reading about the assassination of the first President of Petoria and his assassin struck me as familiar. His name was Alexei Maximillion."
"Now, look at that name. His last name is familiar, but his first name is the obivous clue. Alexei. Now, I don't know if in your world, you ever got interested in DC Comics, but..."
"ALEXEI! THE FIRST NAME OF THE ORIGINAL LEX LUTHOR, THE LUTHOR OF EARTH 2 AND A MAD SCIENTIST MUCH LIKE...FRIEDMAN!"
"Yes. Even look at that last name? Fried Man. Fitting for the inventor of the megabomb and the man who used ion cannons the most."
"But why..."
"Well, Petoria was one of the first countries to fall. It's possible that Alexei Maxmillion traveled through the dimensional portals created by Raven. He might have been present on all past worlds. I mean have you noticed the name of the mysterious Absalom, who was the first to draw blood on your homeworld and the one who betrayed Canada? His name begins in an A and a M."
"Well, at least he's gone forever now.."
"...Yeah..."
**********************************************************
In the middle of the desert, a hand reaches out of the desert.
"Pan...Pan..."
Bruce Smith pulls himself out of the grave. Grabbing his gun, he stalked towards the plume of fire....
**************************************************
The natives enjoyed a bittersweet feast. True, the meat was okay, but they had lost their sacred cave....now, who would the shaman be...
BANG!
A shot rang out. Smith stepped throughout the village, his bloodied corpse leaking green pus.
"SAY HELLO TO JOHN ATLAS FOR ME!"
Soon, the massacre was over. The natives were scattered around the camp.
Smith continued to stumble towards the West. His form grew stranger and stranger.
"I'm coming for you, Pan.."

Superpan, would you please make sure I get all the multi-verse stuff right here, and don't mix any timelines up?
There was a man sitting in the library of the Alaskaland Palace. He was the ONLY mand in the palace - at least, the only man Emperor Raven could find, and he had been looking ever since the Genie had dropped him off. "You there!" he said, auhthoritatively, except not because he was terrified. "What has happened here?"
The man stood up, and drew himself to his full height. He then strode towards Emperor Raven, until he was face-to-face with the ice man. "I'm the Leader of the gray country." He said deliberately. "My friends call me Lee. I used to be your slave."
"Oh, really?" Raven said apprehensively. "Sorry about that. But you've looked after things, since I've been gone?"
Lee lip curled. "You don't remember much. That's what they said. You bumped your metaphorical noggin' on the matephorical wall of the multiverse one too many times. You found a safe spot - a pocket world unconnected to the others - and that calmed you down, but you still can't remember everything."
"How do you know all this?"
"The travelers told me. You'll meet them eventually. The blind girl and the crow. They've been everywhere, and they know everything. They warned me about...the food, too, but I thought I could handle it. Couldn't. He owns the continent now."
"...who?"
"Megaman X. North America officially belongs to The Capcom Empire now. If you look out that window, you'll see."
Raven did as he was asked. Outside, a nightmarish scene. Giant food products marched through the village, slaughtering any humans or penguins that resisted. In the center of them, an old man in worn out battle gear with a long, long beard bellowed orders that no one seemed to be paying attention to. Raven drew back in.
"I don't remember a Megaman X."
"He remembers you. I originally planned to go down with the ship, but then the travellers left me a message. Told me you'd be coming back. Told me..." He hesitated, here. "...to help you." He finished. Raven got the impression he had been going to say something else.
"Where's the portal?" He asked abrubtly. "You got here through a portal? Lead me to it. I'm coming with you. To help." And he smiled, showing rotten teeth.

Well, let's see here...
I just finished re-reading the first RTW game and as long as this takes place on Earth 1, then it's fine. Megaman X was the last one conquered of the Pudding Alliance, but he was not executed by you or seemingly released. While my memories are somewhat hazy concerning RTW II, which I will start on tomorrow, I don't remember him playing at least a major role. Wait, I'll check now.
Okay, well, he did escape to Africa and formed a nation there in the Northwest. One of his last posts was to swear eternal vengance against you. I'm not quite sure what the food reference was as his army was composed of mutant teddy bears....though he did mention cheese, so maybe he made a few advancements in the past 20 years or so. Unless I'm forgetting something...Also, when we last saw him, his name was Emperor X, but that doesn't mean everyone calls him that.
As for Lee, the only person I remember named Lee was that mysterious fellow on Earth-5. It's possible you've created a new character or that this is the Earth-1 version of him.
As to you being in turmoil, I established that Mr. Green was part of a resistance movement that begins at the end of the first movie and it's perfectly logical that Megaman X could have taken the reigns in the chaos that followed.
That's about it, except that now I have a theory about why so many people can come fromt his universe or come to it. See, I think that this whole multiverse revolves around a vortex of mystical energy which the Genies are emanations of. The universes are all in orbit around it with Earth-1 being the closest. This creates such things as Lake Erie Monsters, Mothmen, Mutant Teddy Bears and the like on that Earth and explains why it's so easy for so many people to leave it. As the Earths get farther away, the laws of reality take a stronger hold leading the Earth-8, the home of RNY.
Now, this is just me spit-ballin', but I think this game takes place on a Battleworld that is created in the center of the universe. We have been put here by a select council who usually judge the Greatest Hero, Greatest Character, Greatest Song, Greatest Historical Figure, Greatest Animated Villain, etc. Now they may want to determine who the Greatest champion of this multiverse that has sprung up around their mystic energy. However, they are currently fighting amongst themselves in some "Survivor" type game and so instead of their typical contest, we're doing what we do best.
Sorry if that was excessive, but I've been a big fan of this continuity since I discovered it in mid-2009 and when the creative ideas come, they just come. :)

Lee was the character I created after getting jumping in the machine in, oh, RTW III or IV. One of those. He was an ex-slave who rebelled and took over Raven's land, and he ended the game with two small islands and, I suppose, most of North America.Near the end of that game I was doing a sort of mini-game with JAG where a terrorist organization known as Raven's Claw was based in his mountains, and Megaman X being a deposed ruler who was raising an army of evil cheeses in South America was going to be part of that somehow (incidentally, I wonder if he minds being used in such a way? Prolly not.) I just took that to its logical conclusion. And, of course, the Travelers are two characters who I never got to do anything with, Karen Heller and Kuthk.
Mr. Green's rebellion I don't know about. I promise to start listening to everyone elses posts now though!
Oh, BTW - Raven's font color indicates his mood, unless it's red.
Wonderful news! I am pleased to announce the beggining of the Ratoonven Alliance, a joining of Ravenland and V-D. May it live long and prosper!
Furthermore: We have a new General! Everyone, say hello to Lee, an old friend of mine from the old world! While he was all I was able to glean from there before enemies appeared, he is more valuable then any treasure, maybe.

I just realized that movie can't be called Rule the World II since I have that treatment for Operation Revolucion as well...Well, that one could be a spin-off though the numbering will be off with RTW III and RTW III1/2 anyway though those two games did restore the multiverse to its proper alighment.
Also, while I would love to have others treat my story ideas as canon, it's completely up to you. My characters could have gotten their brains messed up in the interdimensional travel and all. The people in charge of canon are...

Oh wait....JAG, HE'S KILLING PENGUINS! KILLER PENGUINS! :crying::crying::crying::crying:
Nah, don't worry about it. The Pudding Penguin Marines were actually a detatchment of Alaskaland's own penguin soldiers. When Pudding and Fourscore were unofficially allied, Megaman X somehow wound up with a group of penguins to experiment on. He wanted to fuse them with Mutant Teddy Bears to create some kind of supersoldiers, but it failed and the penguins wound up 'brain-dead evil.' As far as I know, all the Pudding Penguins were killed in the events of the first game, so those being slaughtered by X's killer food must be loyal to Alaskaland.

I understand you. I have a story planned out that requires the usage of both movie theaters and television. This is all just prep work. The real story should begin around round seven, but for now, I need to get all the positions in place. However, I just think it'd make sense to spend money on movie theaters and they wouldn't just pop up randomly. Also, you guessed correctly on the TV stations. I forgot to mention that it would count as communications in the post, but that is what I had meant.
I vote we make formal alliances legal. Conflict between alliances, as well as the inevitable infighting, has historically been a major story-driving force. It definitely seems appropriate to bring that back for this game.
.................................................................................................... ................................................
Emperor JAG was enjoying a brief respite from the burdens of leadership, calmly strolling down the beautiful hillside he'd chosen to place the future Imperial Palace Gardens. Above him, the aforementioned Palace was already being constructed on the hilltop. On the fertile plains below, hundreds of his citizens were hard at work building their own homes. On a nearby ridge, a newly finished mine was being worked, miners digging up tons of iron for use in future projects.
JAG's heart swelled with pride. His Empire was happy, productive, and running right on schedule. His plans for a glorious future looked bright. But suddenly...lightning flashed. A familiar trumpet fanfare echoed across the land. And a bizarre creature simply appeared out of thin air before JAG. Shocked, the Emperor staggered backwards, drawing his saber and preparing to fight.
But the creature, an ibis' head on a human body clad in ornate blue robes, didn't attack. Sheath thy blade, Emperor, it said. I mean thee no harm. I am Thoth, God of War and Wisdom. Thou art in possession of my Glorious Book. Remember?
JAG nodded dully, slowly lowering his saber. "You're really a god?" he asked. "What do you want from me?"
Merely thy assistance. You see, I once ruled a vast Kingdom of my own in Earth V's Africa. But my teachings were forsaken by that world's mortals, and my power and influence there waned. For millenia, I have wandered the Multiverse, seeking a worthy mortal to serve as an 'anchor' of sorts, helping to spread my teachings and carve a New ThothLand for me.
"And I take it you consider me 'worthy?" JAG replied. "You want me to be this 'anchor'? I already have an Empire to run."
I see that. And I can forsee that it will be a great Empire one day, hence why I take interest in it. Fear not; I desire no direct control over Jagopolis. That task is thine, and I will not interfere. I simply ask that ye adopt my teachings, spread them among thy people, and accept my support in making thy Empire prosper.
JAG mulled things over for a moment, weighing his options. Divine intervention on Jagopolis' behalf seemed hard to turn down..."Very well. The Empire of Jagopolis gladly accepts your assistance, Thoth."
Excellent. As my first act of support, allow me to ressurect thy Army from Earth I.
As Thoth spoke, thousands of Mothmen and Penguin Marines appeared on the plains below Palace Hill. In unision, they snapped to attention and saluted JAG. Unable to supress a grin, the Emperor returned their salute.
In addition, a field commander. Meet General Samuel van Cleer, Earth V's doppelganger of your Ambassador from Earth I.
A middle aged man in a military uniform, complete with five purple stars on his helmet, appeared before JAG. He saluted as well.
Bloody good to make your aquaintance, sir. I served as your counterpart's aide and Vice President, up until the poor chap went stark-raving mad and tried to destroy the world to end some kind of 'game'. Though with all this interdimensional rubbish, gods, monsters, and so forth...Hell, maybe there was some kind of game involved. But I'm rambling. Point is, sir, I'm tired of politics. I'm an old soldier at heart, twenty-odd years in the New African Army and all, and what I really want to do is lead troops and regain some honor. If your Empire of Jagopo-whatsit is good enough for a god...well, then, old lad, it's bloody good enough for me. I await your command, Emperor.
JAG nodded. "And if your skills are good enough for a god, they're good enough for me. Go meet your new army, General. I want them trained, armed, and ready for anything." Van Cleer nodded, and walked away. JAG turned back to Thoth. "Anything else?"
This seems sufficient to get thee started. I shall stay in contact with thee through The Glorious Book. Keep it near at all times. And now, other matters require my attention. Go forth with my blessing and lead, Emperor.
With that, the god vanished. JAG simply stood for a moment, shaking his head at the weirdness that had just entered his life. Then he sheathed his saber, and got back to work.

Oh, by the way, I was thinking of maybe doing it for the tenth game, but it might be more useful now. Would anyone here be interested in a Rule the World character list done like an encyclopedia? It would basically be a character list done alphabetically of every character who was in these games. Each character will be accompanied by a biography, any available pictures, the player who created them, homeworld, etc. Anyone else who wants to write an entry for characters they created can and if other players don't want to write entries for their characters, they can apply. However, all entries would have to include actual events from the game so they can be...y'know, informative. I think this would have to be in the Story Board though as it's not really a game. Anyone else think it might be cool?

Wish I could tell you, Mr. Pan. But the sad fact of it is, I have no idea what happened in the world after you left. The Arctic Republic basically collapsed within a few months. No one wanted to live there, and with the mission having been cancelled, there was no reason to stay. People started leaving in droves. The economy flatlined, the infrastructure fell apart, and then the bloody vultures started circling. We had no communications with the outside world, so that bastard Lee started sending state-sponsored terrorists after us. We only knew they were his because we caught and interrogated a few of them.
But we couldn't stop them all. Lord knows I tried, but a volunteer military's no use if nobody volunteers. The CIA agents abandoned us. The terrorists stole the missiles. They basically had free reign over the country. They ransacked everything, killed off the few civilians that didn't want to leave, assassinated Jag...it was a bloody mess. I was literally the last Republic citizen left when Thoth showed up and offered me a new life.
So...yeah. That's all I know. Sorry I didn't have any encouraging news, mate.
And yeah, the encyclopedia idea sounds pretty cool. Useful, too. Digging through the RTW threads to research any characters we want to include in new games can get old. Having a quick reference source will help out a lot.

04-13-2011, 11:09 PM
What? How? And parallel childhoods, what?
Well, here's how I see your biography of your character.
Raven was originally Mark Burton, I believe. He was a roommate of another man at college whose name somewhat escapes me. Over time, he developed his personality until he became "Emperor Raven". In 1983, he was then invited to a dinner party by this same man, at which he killed several people including that man. This was all in the Clue game. He escaped shortly afterwards and fled possibly to New York. At some unspecified time, he then traveled to Earth 1 where he became a valued general under the name of the Breeze to Emperor Raven. It is unknown at this time if he was connected to Andrew Brees.
Anyway, Raven sent Breeze to Earth 2 to colonize it. However, that mundane world, which had nothing fantastic about it being next door neighbors to the crazy Earth 1, was not able to handle the strain of such interworld travelers and so it "imploded". I believe that Breeze was at the center of this as your report of his death is the only record of that world...to a point.
However, some thing strange happened. I believe that since Breeze was at the center of this, his soul was reincarnated on Earth 1. In the soul of Raven. This explains how you were both "born and raised" in Alaska and was able to leave the oven on, causing global warming, while at the same time you were from Earth 8. That Raven grew up to become the current Raven we all know and mildly...loathe? disrespect? Depends on who the character is.
However, the implosion caused more problems then you could think. When Earth 2 was imploded, every earth was moved forward in the multiverse 1 spot. Rule the World III1/2, the former Earth 3, became Earth 2 and everyone became imbued with the memories of their counterparts from that unfortunate unreality. That was how they remembered the betrayals and vendettas from that Earth despite them being different people like Cartoon, Nichols, and Vladimir. However, this sudden burst of negative memories caused the people of the Earth to become bloodthirsty and insane. They quickly overthrew their old governments and some low level farmers began breeding killer ostriches to sate their bloodlust.
That answer your questions?
Radical Raven

Hm. No. I'd forgotten about some of that stuff. Wasn't I, like, joking about leaving the oven on or something....

I'm going to put a bit of a different spin on these offers here.
I have decided that purchasing the entire series may not be the smartest of ideas. What if my audience disagrees with the series, or what if the stars storm off the set angrily? Those are risks that I am not sure I wish to take.
Thus, I am restructuring my offer. I am reducing my offer to eight resources. Four upfront, four at launch of TNC.
-The first 24 episodes of The Mike Show will air exclusively on TNC (The Nichols Channel). These episodes will premiere over the course of two years.
-If the series is renewed, it will be renewed in seasons of 12 episodes. Each season will cost me three resources.
Superpan
04-14-2011, 05:26 PM
Alright, BIDDING IS CLOSED! Nichols, before I decide which offer is the best, how many seasons do you expect a show on your network to last? Also, what is the potential of me having a movie?
Also, Raven, I just realized HOW you destroyed Earth 2. See, my theory is that Earth 2 was the most mundane universe that could exist. There was no legends, no monsters, no comics, no religion, no cartoons, no theme parks, etc. Instead, people just came to see life in Nietzsche existentialist terms and tried to add meaning by making scientific advancements and developing weapons. However, when the Breeze (and possibly others? I believe I read it yesterday, but I've already forgotten) came with their bold personalities and assetive power, the complacent governments of the past fell apart and NEW contenders emerged to follow the example of these Nietzchean SUPERMEN!
However, this was to be a short-lived conflict. For you see, The Breeze named his nation...IMAGINATIONLAND! By introducing imagination to the world, Breeze tore apart the fabric of that universe and thus restructured the universe.
P.S. Well, I think I've gotten enough support for the encyclopedia. I'll probably ask Johnny to give permission, but otherwise the thread should be up when I finish the list of people who need entries. Everyone gets first dibs on characters they have created or introduced. Also, despite what I may have done in my past posts, I'll try to refrain from making statements like "There are 52 Earths in the multiverse" or "Earth 13 is filled with zombies" or other such things that might affect future games or limit gamemasters. That's part of the reason why we're only covering named characters, not wars, realities, characters, and such.

I expect The Mike Show to run about 60 episodes. As for a movie, I hope to have the movie serve as a series finale, so the odds are likely.
I would also like to take note that on the graph for the equation that determines episodes per resources (12x + 24 / 3x+ 8, domain is > 0, range is all reals), there is an asymptote on the line of y=4. In other words, no matter how many episodes I order, it will never reach four resources per episodes, the rate that Mr. Logi is charging. So even if I don't order any more episodes, you'll still get more money for each episode than you'd get from Logi.

Here's the way I've been viewing it. We're essentially buying an alliance. Jmill and I's characters are in a cold war of sorts, and we both wanted the Superpan's show at the beginning of this. If Superpan makes a show for one of us, he'll essentially be on our side when the invitable war comes. Furthermore, we aren't going to back down because that would show weakness to our people. -Signature: The Final Countdown
Coming straight from the mind of Nolanofsky, this show follows a man named Bill in the distant future. In this distant future, a totalitarian government ran by a man named Nicholas Kram keeps track of "signatures," defining characteristics that people are born with it that allow tracking and mind control by the government. However, Bill was born without a signature and is on the run all alone. Kram then sends out a team led by Eli Dono to find Bill and kill him. The show follows parallel stories about Bill trying to hide when everyone knows he's an extremely wanted man, and Eli as he tries to figure out why he's on this mission.

This is the best you can make? Pathetic. The Mark Nichols Show is miles ahead of this.

Audiences want scripted mindless shows and shows like The Mike Show to keep their mind of their awful day, not executions on national television. I believe YOU are one miles behind.
Also, I'd like to announce some of the reruns we'll be showing. Classics like Dexter's Lab, 24, and, of course, the Scott Pilgrim animated series will air on our network, plus many, many more I have on my super-big iPod!

Obviously, you haven't seen one of our executions.
Perhaps you've got Mike, but I've got some mindless stuff, too. Reality TV, dramas, a comedy or two. And I've got Phineas and Ferb. So take that.
