hiawhatta's Rabbit Hunt should be shown with Native American Toons, not A Feather In His Hare. Mainly because I have AFIHH and I'm bored with that episode. Here are some ideas of mine.
Gabby Goat
Woody Woodpecker
The Pink Panther
Speedy Gonzales
BTW, this is my 100th post!

Those are all GREAT ideas.
Toonheads could do almost anything because theres at least 3 toons with the same subject.

I hope they make new episodes of Toonheads to coincide with Adult Swim! ;)
I really like the idea of a Speedy Gonzales or Pink Panther toonheads. How about a "Late De-Patie Freleng WB's" with a Cool Cat cartoon, Merlin the Magic Mouse, and "Bunny and Claude"? (I know you hate 'em, but I'm a sucker for the later cartoons ;) ). Or a Zany Daffy / Bitter Daffy episode (this would work better as an hour, to show Daffy's progression). How about a Porky and Daffy episode, they could show different 'stages' in their relationship, like show "Porky Pig's Feat" where they're friends, then "Daffy Doodles" where they're enemies, and then maybe "Duck Dodgers" where Porky is Daffy's sidekick. I love the Porky and Daffy cartoons. :D

I wonder if CN has ever considered showing the only (I think) short Avery made for the Lantz studios, "The Legend of Rockabye Point". This classic was shown on Fox's mediocre new Woody Woodpecker series back in 1999. It came to my rather sleep-deprived mind late Saturday night after sitting for my niece, who I've discovered will only stop bawling after I rock her rapidly and hum "Rock-a-Bye-Baby" at high speed to her repeatedly like the bear (I think it was a bear) did to the bulldog in that cartoon. Along with "Jerky Turkey" and "King-Size Canary" that's one of my favorite Avery shorts....

How about a "Gossamer" episode with the three cartoons that involved Gossamer?
Actually, Avery directed several at Lantz, they include:
Sh-h-h-h-h
The Legend of Rockabye Point
Crazy Mixed-up Pup
I'm Cold
They could do a one-hour special about the history of Avery and his short tenure at Lantz. That is if CN ever got the rights to show the Lantz cartoons again....
I think they could do an episode about Hook, or Snafu. Actually, they could easily dedicate a season or two of Toonheads just to WWII cartoons.

Thanks for that jack I was just wondering becuase we got those plus they manged to get "Sniffles and the bookworm" as well.
I also remember seeing "you're an education" somewhere but I think it was in a different toonheads.
Actually, I checked out Jon's Toonheads Episode Guide (http://www.toonzone.net/looney/tv/turner/textoon.html) and it said:
6. MIDNIGHT IN THE BOOKSTORE (12/18-20/1998):
"Speaking Of The Weather" (w/A.A.P. logo)
"You're An Education" (w/A.A.P. logo)
"Book Revue"* (as "Book Review")
[Note: During the weekend of 03/19-21/1999, "You're An Education" was
replaced with a hand-colored print of "I Like Mountain Music" as the
first title played. "Speaking Of The Weather" became the second
cartoon to be shown, followed by "Book Revue". New wraparound intros
were made for "I Like Mountain Music" and "Speaking Of The Weather",
now as a "dubbed version", during the weekend of 10/06-08/2000.]
So they actually went back and redid an episode of Toonheads.

They most likely replaced "You're an Education", due to the numerous black, Chinese, and Indian stereotypes in the cartoon. Though they still play a certain cartoon in a bookstore, which contains caricatures of many famous black people......

How about:
BLUES IN THE NIGHT
Minnie the Moocher
Tin Pan Alley Cats
Rooty Toot Toot
and:
TERMITE TERRACE'S DUMBEST CHARACTERS
Jack-Wabbit and the Beanstalk
The Bee-Deviled Bruin
[Any suggestions for a third cartoon? I keep coming up with Freleng cartoons, but it would be better to have a third director, I think.]

Jones directed BEE DEVILED BRUIN. Also, CN will most likely never show TIN PAN ALLEY CATS.

1. Yes, I know Jones directed "Bee-Deviled Bruin" and all the other Three Bears cartoons. It's just that most of the WB cartoons I could think of with "dumb" characters (the kind who say "duh") seemed to be Freleng cartoons ("Bugsy and Mugsy," "A Hare Grows in Manhattan," etc.)
2. About "Tin Pan Alley Cats"--we can dream, can't we?;)

How about "Dough-Ray-Me-Ow?" Not only does it feature a dumb character, but it's also directed by someone other than Jones or Freleng: Art Davis.

Dr. Belch and Jack~
Besides the 4 Lantz cartoons Jack denoted there were the two cartoons that Tex was allowed to write and direct for the very bored Bill Nolan back in 1935. They were almost certainly the cartoons "The Quail Hunt" and "Towne Hall Follies". In addition he worked as gag-men on a number of Lantz cartoons just before this. These two cartoons are historically VERY IMPORTANT as they served as Tex's entre to Leon Schlesinger. When he left Lantz the second time (in the Fifties) he almost certainly left storyboards to several more cartoons which were completed and credited to Alex Lovy. Joe Adamson identifies these toons as... "Hot And Cold Penguin", "Hold That Rock", and "Room And Wrath".
On the WWII front they could indeed do a season of War themed toons. Annnnd who knows they might even dredge up Avery's Bertie the Bomber toons...

How about a Christmas special(I love Xmas toons)
Gifted wrapped
Bedtime for sniffles
The shanty were santa claus lives(B&W)(Maybe) or Bugs bunnys christmas carol
I think it would be neat if they updated the Toonheads Christmas Special every year, instead of playing the same one. That's one of favorite Toonheads. They could add Good Will To Men, Gift Wrapped, Bugs Bunny Christmas Carol, The Fright Before Chistmas, The Shanty Where Santy Clause lives, and maybe another short from Fletcher, there has to be at least one with a Christmas theme... Do they show the Xmas special in the UK?
How about an original titles episode, sure it would take some effort on CN's part to find some prints of BRMMs with original titles, but it would be a great episode.
I still think a special about redreawns would be good too, they could compare a redrawn popeye to a B&W Popeye, the redrawn "Puss and Booty" to the original, and one other cartoon. They would, of couse, only show clips of the redrawn cartoon while the full B&W cartoon could be shown after...
Also, Sogturtle, about the cartoons Avery helped with, and even storyboarded, I'd like it if the completely revamped the now mediocre Tex Avery Show to be just as great, and as bold as the Bob Clampett Show. There, they could make reference to these shorts, perhaps even show some. Sure, they would have to get permission from Lantz, but I think compromises should be made if they ever want a decent show that really pays tribute to Avery's genious. Maybe some Bertie the Bomber would fit into the show too.
