I'd like to know if Disney ever remade any of their shorts like WB and MGM did. I know they used footage from the features to make individual shorts (Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballaros, Melody Time, etc.), but did they remake the actual shorts?

I know there was a color remake of "Orphan's Benefit".

Thanks, I forgot about that one. Someone also said (at the Disney Encyclopedia site) that "Mickey's Birthday Party" was a remake of an earlier title, except that Goofy and Donald weren't around to be in it (a B&W I presume).

To add to what Jon said, Orphan's Benefit was remade in 1941, but Disney used the original 1934 soundtrack. Basically, it was 1941 drawings to 1934 music.
Screwy, ain't it?

"Lend a Paw" was a remake of a cartoon. Try Encyclopedia of Disney Animated Shorts (http://www.geocities.com/~eutychus55/index.htm) for info on Disney shorts. :D

Yup. That was a color remake of "Mickey's Pal Pluto".
