I was just watching the Morningstar DVD of this episode this morning, so while the quality of the VHS master left much to be desired, I really found that I was having a fun time watching "Vs. The Vultue". Ranging from the disco-funk theme song to the subplot about Spider-Man being one of those "gremlins" that pops up on airplanes, it was very funny.
Of course, how could you not have a cartoon show without having something be invisible. And of course you had the Vulture invent a special paint that concealed his airplane and the Jupiter probe from everything, including radar. The catapault part of the episode reminded me about the old Donald Duck cartoon (from WWII) where Donald paints everything "invisible" (himself included) and then gets the colonel sent to the funny farm for going all crazy.
But Disney and Marvel really need to get this series on DVD or Blu-Ray, since these old VHS masters just don't let the vibrance of the picture get through (and the sound sounds like it is coming from behind a couple of closed doors).
