I saw this last month when Jeph Loeb gave a sneak peak in Mesa. I thought it was a great episode, Firestar was adorable and I loved the nod to her 1980's show. I hope she shows up again soon.

The multiple Wolverines with the different Canadian personalities was funny too.

Chuckled at the nod to Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.

Also, one of the Wolvie clones had an Australian accent; nice little reference to how in Wolverine's first TV appearance in "Pryde of the X-Men", Logan was rendered Australian instead of Canadian for some reason. Another clone was female; a nod to X23, perhaps?

So Reptil goes to school with Angelica Jones (Firestar) and Amadeus Cho? I would've expected Angelica to attend the Xavier Academy, since she's a mutant. But then she and Reptil wouldn't have been in the same class and there would have been no story.

Anyone else think that the Mayor's narration was another Amazing Friends nod ?

It was kind of strange that they did a "Hero Up" sequence before they even got to the theme song.

Anyways, it was cool to see Firestar get that much of an appearance. There have been two New Warriors featured in a row. If Speedball shows up in the next one, that would be super.

This episode had a lot of nods, the Wolverine of "Pryde of the X-Men" as well as "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends". Although I do find it a bit odd that no one seems to know X23 or Firestar despite the fact that a few episodes ago, Wolverine mentioned having teamed up with both of them.

And didn't Hulk read a book published by Amadeus Cho back in season one? What's he doing in high school?!

Best reference, though, was the sly one to Jurassic Park. When Egghead bursts in on Reptil's class, he has a canister of shaving cream, which is exactly what Wayne Knight's character used in Jurassic Park to smuggle dinosaur DNA (Wayne Knight also happens to be voicing Egghead here).

Did you ever notice that, on The Flintstones, sometimes Joe Rockhead was Fred and Barney's bowling partner but at other times he was Fred's co-worker? That always bugged me.

To address the apparent SHS conundrum, it was probably a different Amadeus Cho. After all, "Cho" is a common surname. :-|

I see you've never read The Incredible Hercules comics, then ;).

In the comics, Amadeus Cho is a teenager who's the 7th smartest person in the Marvel Universe (according to Reed Richards, at least, and Cho managed to pull a fast one on Reed at least once). Doesn't seem like too much of a stretch for him to be a published author while still in high school.

Plus, I also found out that Cho was a Water Buffalo Lodge member with Fred and Barney on The Flintstones, some 30 years before he was created by Greg Pak. THAT'S HOW SMART HE IS. :p.

OK. JUST so we're clear, I HATE this show with a passion. I never watch it, and only turned it on out of pure boredom. And...this episode was actually awesome. In terms of humor, that is. Not in the traditional awesome sense. The several canadian references, especially the hockey stick and the curling, had me laughing out loud. And I finally see the charm that this show offers. And that was definitely X-23. 2 claws and all. Plus, we got Amadeus Cho, Firestar (and an accompanying Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends reference), and the several hilarious WOlverine homages, including Australian Wolverine from Pryde of the X-Men, and the French Canadian Wolverine. This was a good one, and I think I'll actually be watching this show from now on.

Perhaps. And I have met multiple people named Amadeus. In fact, half the people in my World Civ class in high school were named Amadeus (and some were girls).

I have every issue of The Incredible Herc plus his appearances in Mighty Avengers and all the World War Hulk stuff. Wasn't the "7th Smartest" thing disproven because it was a set up by that soap company contest? I know Cho is a teenager, but he doesn't go to school, he just goes around adventuring.

Yeah, I'm overthinking it, I was initially annoyed that the episode where Hulk finds his book implies he's an adult or well published author or something and I wanted him to be more like he is in this episode. It's just a minor nitpick, it was cool to see his cameo here. Honestly, the worst thing they did was not give him any lines.

Very fun episode. I liked the homage to Spider-man and his Amazing Friends, and it was great seeing Firestar on the show. Plus all the different Wolverine clones were pretty hilarious.
