View Full Version : Why no talkbacks for the mini-episode compilations?

I've just been browsing some of the talkbacks for Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and I noticed that we still don't have any separate talkbacks for the compilations of the micro-episodes. I realize we already have a general thread for them, but it still seems a little strange not at least having them listed in the talkback collection, since they technically form the first five episodes in the official numbering. Is there any specific reason for this?

Bearing in mind I'm just blindly speculating, as I wasn't even a participant of this forum at that time; I discovered this venue some time after Breakout, but I would perhaps think that the misc. talkback for the micro-episodes pre-dated the revelation hat they would form episodes themselves. Given that, and that the commentary on them as a whole had already been done, I speculate that a dedicated thread for the episodes compiled from the micro-episodes was thought a waste of space, as those who'd wanted to discuss matters already had (for the most part).
Or, y'know, something like that...:D

Maybe, but that still doesn't explain why the episode names aren't at least mentioned in the talkback collection. The current list makes it seem like Breakout is actually episodes 1 and 2, when officially it is episode 6 and 7. Someone new to this sight might read the pinned topic and think that the micro-episodes only exist in the micro format, when in fact they are also part of several combined episodes.
It's just something that's been bothering me. When the episodes are listed in their proper order, it becomes clearly obvious that Gamma World was intended to be the mid-season finale, and might have even marked a temporary break in production. It makes sense, since that the end of part two marks the uniting of all eight Avengers featured in promotional images. Without the micro-episodes, however, there's no real clearly defined line between the first and second half parts of the season.
I hope you guys can see where I'm coming from - I'm just sort of a stickler when it comes to chronology. Then again, I'm also the guy who winces at how how the 90's Hulk and original Fantastic Four cartoon listings don't match with the standard "multiples of thirteen" format, so take what you will from that. :p
