My favorite director right now would be Peter Jackson. He is the one that brought my favorite book to life as a live action, which is J.R.R. Tolkens The Lord Of The Rings.

Also I might add, that Tom Cruise said he has worked with some of the greatest directors ever. A friend of mine agreed, but when I went over the list of who he worked with, I laughed, cause he worked with who he considered the greatest directors, but not particularly "the" greatest. I'd like to see him in a Spike Lee Joint.

My personal favorite is Bryan Singer. He and Shyamalan are my two favorite directors right now. I just love their filmmaking style. Neither has done a lot of big movies, but the ones they have done have been REALLY good.
Bryan Singer-"The Usual Suspects", "X-Men"-Next up X-Men 2
M Night Shyamalan-"The 6th Sense", "Unbreakable"-Next up the crop circles movie this august.
