I was inspired to start this thread because last night, Greg Weisman gave me permission to update GargWiki (http://gargoyles.dracandros.com) with this little tidbit:
It is also worth nothing that had The Spectacular Spider-Man received a third season, Greg Weisman had planned to cast Marina Sirtis as Emily Osborn.
So, for those of you Spectacular Spider-Man fans who kept wondering what she was supposed to sound like. Well, there you go.
I've been speculating for a while now what she would have been like. Weisman hasn't told me beyond seeing hints in the Radio Play, and Marina's casting. But, I am thinking that Emily would not have been a very nice person at all, if not an outright sinister character. Exactly the type of woman Norman Osborn would marry.
I know, Marina is generally known for playing the nicest character in the universe, but look at who Weisman has been casting her as? Demona, Margot Yale, and now Queen Bee in "Young Justice." Two villains, and one extremely unpleasant individual.
Now, moving off the subject of Emily. Here's what he also said about how he would have developed Flash Thompson and his relationship to Peter...
Okay. Here's my thinking. Peter and Flash were best friends at age @4. Then Peter's parents died. Flash's dad was a soldier and then a cop (both dangerous jobs). Young Flash couldn't deal with being that close to death. He didn't want to play with Peter anymore. And in his own YOUNG mind he had to find a way to justify/rationalize his decision that wasn't about his fears. So he convinced himself that Peter was a stuck-up egghead (or somesuch) who deserved to be dumped as a friend.
By the time WE meet Flash and Peter at the beginning of their junior year of high school, Flash's mindset is fairly well entrenched and the original reason for it is lost to him. Somewhere deep down, he knows better and given enough time and episodes we would have eventually dealt with this objectively in the series. Not to be, I'm afraid...

Very deep. A shame we'll never see it.
And obviously, we all know Scorpion and Hobgoblin were coming in season three. We already saw Roderick Kingsley in season two, and heard Mac Gargan's name mentioned.
As for further speculation. As much as I disdain the character, I believe we'd have gotten Carnage in the third season. Eddie Brock was sent to Ravencroft, and we already had a glimpse of Cletus Kasady in Ravencroft.
I also think Belladonna was a sure thing. Weisman made a point of mentioning that Kingsley owned a perfume company, which I am sure was laying pipe for Belladonna. Not to mention Greg loves writing female villains, and sadly Spidey has a shortage of them.
Thoughts? Speculation?
