Disney really have a lot of confidence that all of their hard work this year will pay off. First and foremost, for those who loved 'I Have a Dream' from last week's Tangled, guess what song (http://waltdisneystudiosawards.com/tangled/categories.php) from the film was chosen to be selected as a possible nominee for 'Best Song' for next year's Academy Awards.

I like to call this thread 'For Your Consideration' or 'Opinion on Award Nominees for the Mouse House' despite what I have as the thread's title. You can see all of the categories for the Disney films and animated short below.

Tangled does deserve to win some Oscars, Best Animated Feature is going to be very competitive this year. The Oscars sure will be fun to watch.

Do you mean "I See the Light"? That's the only song I see listed on Disney's FYC site. It's probably also their best bet at the Best Song Oscar IMO; I also really like "When Will My Life Begin" but it's probably better if only one song from the film gets nominated to avoid the risk of two nominations cancelling each other out so neither win--as is what happened with Enchanted in 2008 and The Princess and the Frog last year. It's a shame that under the Academy's new rules Tangled isn't eligible for Best Film Score.

As far as Best Animated Feature goes, I'm torn as I love both Tangled and Toy Story 3...Tangled probably slightly edges out TS3 for me at the moment but that's probably because I haven't seen TS3 since it's theatrical run in June (I got it on DVD for Christmas so I'll watch it again soon though) and because I'm just a sucker for the Disney-Musical-Princess-Romance genre in general. TS3 is pretty much the shoo-in for Best Animated Feature but in my dream world it would get Best Picture and allow Tangled to get Best Animated Feature...alas, that'll remain a dream. Having only three nominations makes the competition even tougher (of ALL the years not to have five nominees )...I do hope WDFA's surge in quality and success with Tangled will be recognized at the very least by getting a nomination.
