Is Kabuto promoting Mitsubishis?

I apologize for not knowing the VA's name, but has anyone else seen the Mitsubishi commercial and thought that it was "Kabuto's" voice they were hearing? I'm pretty sure it is, but am not certain. I've got to admit it brings a slight smile to my face when it comes on.

I don't know the VA either (honestly, I don't even know who Kabuto is :ack:), but it's distinctly possible that they're doing commercial voice-over. There are very, very few voice actors who can make a living purely on animation work, and almost everyone who does voice-over for cartoons also does promo/commercial work. In a lot of cases, that's the work that keeps them fed and clothed. We may know Corey Burton as Brainiac from Superman, V.V. Argost from The Secret Saturdays, or Ludwig Von Drake in a bunch of Disney stuff, but he's said he's paying the bills these days by being the voice for the Old Navy TV ads.

If you listen closely, you can hear a lot of your favorite voice-over actors doing promo work. Nearly every voice-over actors' site has a demo reel for animation work and one for promo work.

Y'know... when I made the first post I thought about adding a sentence at least stating that I was in no way denigrating him for doing commercials, for I am aware of that most VA's don't only do anime/cartoons, but didn't want to take the time. :p Yeah, that was a good decision...

Perhaps what motivated me the most to post this was that I picked up on it - I think. I remember hearing David Lucas doing 7-11 commercials and someone else a couple? of years ago and that brought a grin to my face as well. There may have been one other that I noticed, but I feel that there are probably a number of commercials that I failed to pick up on that it was a VA doing it.

Anyone notice any others that are currently airing or have recently ?

For a moment I taught then Kabuto himself did a cameo in a Mitsubishi commercial like the Lupin III Japanese commercial for Esso or the late 1960s-early 1970s Plymouth commercials with Will E. Coyote and Road Runner, my bad. :sweat::o
