Today I thought I'd start a thread for the Darkwing Duck episode "Days of Blunder".

"Days of Blunder" is the first episode featuring Quackerjack. The plot invovles Quackerjack sets up Darkwign Duck for embarrassment a few times, and then, disguised as a psychologist, convinces Darkwing to give up crime fighting.

This is a great episode. I find Darkwing's embarrassment after learning that Quackerjack didn't really steal money funny, and it's funny when Darkwing thinks a rubber chicken is a bomb.

The wrestling scenes are also great. Somehow I always thought Laucnhpad would make a good wrestler (th fact that he's always dressed as a pilot would make a good gimmick for a professional wrestler). Darkwing and Gosylyn's discussion about Gosylyn known that wrestlign is fake is funny, as is Launchpad's reaction ("Wrestling is fake???").

It's interesting how when Quackerjack disguises himself as a psychologist, he's still wearing his maska s part of the costume, and Darkwing doesn't seem to notice. As the mask seems to be a distinctive look for the character and Quackerjack is rarely seen without it (I think "The Haunting of Mr. Bannana Brain" is the only episode where he's seen without it) I would think he's remove it to throw Darkwing off.

Anyway, it's a good episode. It's a good first episode for Quackerjack, though it doesn't feel like a proper introduction to the character (I don't think there were any episodes to properly introduce the character).

I thought the Whiffle episode was QJ's first?

Are you going by production order or broadcast order? Because "Days of Blunder" is the first Quackerjack episode on the "Volume 1" DVD. The only way the "Whiffle" episode could have aired first would be if it's one of the ABC episodes.

OK, apologies, but I thought it was pretty clear that Whiffle seemed like QJ's introductory episode, regardless of production dates. We hear him rant about Whiffle Boy putting him out of business, and then at the game Drake says he doesn't know who QJ is. So it seems from a storytelling perspective that Whiffle Boy drove QJ into embracing crime with this episode.

I don't remember seeing that episode. But if it wasn't presented as a flashback then it probably was production-wise. I know that the broadcast order is messed up when it comes to introductory episodes.

"Whiffle While You Work" is supposed to be Quackerjack's first episode. It's his earliest episode as far as production order goes, it just aired out of order. Simple as that.
